Sounds like a good plan if you don't have to have one right away.

    2020 SR V6 4x4
First new vehicle. I leased February 2020

    2020 SR 4x4 v6 dcsb.
D rings, deck rail sliders, carpet and all weather sills, keyless fob.

sales guy said they wouldn’t come off msrp. (Other car sales friends confirmed this later with Tacomas)

I got opted for Armorall paint protection (coating?) thing I can’t seem to use $750.

That made me pay over msrp? 34,500

I also paid for gap coverage. I later learned my insurance could do that, so I got two months off my lease after signing a little later prorated.

I think the big number was like 36,xxx agreed upon value 34,500. (The paint protection in there)

    The residual is 25.5.
I later learned TFS had a really high money factor. I paid over this. I thought it was better to go with a captive lender.

0 down nothing negative rolled in.

    550 a month. 10/36

I got told how bad a deal this was, but the 2020 has a lot of stuff the older ones don’t. I also had the opportunity cost of being able to be in a truck when the Covid stuff was really weird and thereafter actually got one.

My contract with TFS says I have an SR5 but the vin is right, and the truck I received is correct. The finance guy said this is a paperwork error.

I complained to the finance guy after he said I got the right truck SR5 starts at 36,xxx. (Plus paint protection and the gap would have been much higher)

I was afraid the rate or depreciation may be different or something as anytime I talk to TFS my truck is an SR5 to them.

I was contemplating just buying it out to save interest, but it seems the interest/profit is already set in stone.

3 year old Tacoma’s similar with 30k seem to be in the 27 range. They are missing a few features.

I was also assured that having TFS on my credit report as a first new loan/lease will have an impact on any future auto loans/leases that if I complete all my payments next time I won’t have any issues since it’s my first.

    550 x 36 = 19,800 to rent an SR

That picture of that sr was like everyone i've seen around here with that black bumper area into the fenders...imo, its looks unfinished. If the truck is white or whatever color that bumper , and fenders should be the same color. Don't know if all or's are similar, but its all i saw here that definitely changed my mind not to buy one.

Not sure about your deal as I am not very familiar with leasing. There should be a price you can buy the truck for after the lease runs out. Anyway sounds like a nice truck, I had a 2019 SR with SX pkg, now have the 2020 SR same pkg. Came with upgrades that wern't on the 19 and I like the grill better. So Congratulations on your new truck !
