I'm getting married on Saturday and lost on how much beer I will need for the wedding. It's a 150 person wedding with around 75 or so beer drinkers. The wedding will be going from 5-when it stops, so we want to have enough beer during that time. We are only doing beer, wine and champagne. I was thinking 2 kegs Coors Light and 1 Shock Top (make the women happy). Is that too much? I'm sure we will have some people bring their own hard liquor. Thanks!

Youll have Shock Top left over I'm sure. That's not a all day/ night beer like double O is. Its too heavy, but a definite option for those who claim double O is "water"

Fuck 'em. They didnt pay for it anyway.

    Best of Luck and Congrats

Hahaha, yeah I think 3 is good and I figured I needed something other than "water" for casual drinkers. My Fiance and her friends like Shock Top, so that would work for them. I'm not a fan, but I'm also not trying to get a heavy beer like Sierra in a full keg.

Congrats and if you're worried about running out just invite Jesus. Can't be much harder to turn water in to beer.

My wedding had 45 people, 3 kegs, full bar, kegs were dry within hours. I guess my friends can drink!

    Mods? Yes, oh yes..
    This much...

For our june outdoor wedding, similar numbers, shorter duration...we had 2 kegs of GOOD summer beer (local brewery's orange wheat, sam adams summer ale) and a pony keg of a brown. The orange wheat was laid to waste quickly and almost ran out of summer ale. Should have had 3-4 kegs of orange wheat and skipped the others

After you account for foam and spilling there are about 150 beers in a standard keg so each of your 75 guests would get 6 beers total on average. My friends drink way more than that especially at a wedding. Do everyone a favor and get a couple more at least. Have a great time, congrats!

I was at a wedding a few months ago and they had 3 kegs for 150-200 people....they were floated in a matter of hours....10 30 packs of Bud Light later, everything was fine.

Better to have too much than too few. Extra beer will never go to waste

Thanks guys! I think I'm going with 3 kegs and two 36 packs. That way if I do run out I will have some cans to use without tapping an entire keg.

Down here you would probably need a semi trailer loaded with beer for a wedding like that. 5-till it stops? When the beer runs out of course. Congrats on your wedding!

You can never have enough beer. Coors light will be gone through like water. . .

@ OP: Be sure to become familiar with liability laws (and local ordinances) within your state or city. Depending on where this event is held: One can be held liable if a guest leaves drunk (.08 in California) and causes injury to a third party.

    Just something to think about.

Coors light is NOT a BEER...it is diluted pee water at best....

Get something substantial and with hearty flavors...

    And congratulations....
