$12000 off MSRP on a new Tacoma, I call bullshit, sorry bud, unless they got you on financing / trade / fees, etc.

That was with his trade --- so like 4k off MSRP and 8k for the almost totaled truck .

I admit it is a ridiculous deal but resale or trade-ins are nuts for older toyota's. This area has 4 toyota dealers and ford, honda and chevy dealers everywhere. The competition is ferocious. Toyota does deal and I spent a week haggling with them. Started at 39,000 from 42,400 with trade and the salesman and I laughed at their offer. I almost walked because of that. Then it got serious. They are brutal but you can't give in. Fight like hell with them!:duel: Tell them Ranger is going to kick their ass! I told them nobody is going to buy this Limited because of the chrome. Tell them toyota's are having problems! The Sales manager said he went home crying. Pure BS. They make a fortune on these trucks. This one says made in mexico.:fingerscrossed: Bleep100 is exactly right - no BS:amen: Thanks.

1/3 of the cars or not silver looks perfect on 3rd gen access cabs.

Realized you meant $12k both trade and off the new truck, not just off MSRP new truck price alone. Totally different. Still good deal and yep resale is strong, on Tacoma number 7, always trade them, not even worth private party if your state gives you the tax savings.

I traded in my last truck for 24k so I had a tax break of $1440 . Which means I sold my truck for 25440 and they listed it for $26200 . It didn't last long . I would rather trade than sell out right and have someone complaining to me about this or that .

I get several calls and emails every month from the dealer on my 16 Tacoma with 13k miles. I haven't bothered to see how much they will give on a trade. Not having a note to pay every month is nice!

Weird thing is during the deal and writing the contract they gave up talking about what the trade was worth or how much off MSRP. They just wrote the total amount off the MSRP. Doesn't matter I love this truck!

I love mine and was and still happy with the deal . I think I should have got a little more for my truck but I'm good . I hate it when a day or two later you feel like you have been ripped off -- they can be tricky .

I gave the guy that bought my 1st gen the monroney sticker since we kept it in the seat back compartment for 22 years lol that truck stickered for 24.5k ish. But it was base model everything pretty much minus 4x4, Cruise, and intermittent wipers. Only an access cab as well! If it had power locks and what not it probably would have been 26k or more.

Agreed, if they give you KBB trade in and with the tax break you usually come close if not better than private party, Tacoma number 7 and have been doing this since number 4.

I completely agree, and got almost the same tax break in the purchase of my '19 Taco.

Same here, traded my 17 at $32k, 19 was $37.2k, saved $2080 in taxes, meaning I would have had to sell my truck for $34.1k private party to make up the difference.

The dealership offered me $20k for my 2013 Baja with 105k miles on it on anTRD Pro in December
Didn’t do the deal, as I wasn’t interested, but the dealer kept sending me crap about my taco, so I decided to take one for a drive. Wasn’t really impressed, felt my old girl to be better. IMO
