I just used Edmunds TMV as a guide then pitted them against each other. My truck wasn't even on a lot, it was out @ sea still. I know if it had been on the lot I could have gotten them even lower.

Bought my first Taco two weeks ago. Paid $21,086(does not include tax, etc., etc.) for my 2006 double cab TRD, SR5, Tow package, alarm and remote start. 30410 miles. So far, I have already spent $640 on tires, $90 for extra key. Wish I could afford a nice 4x4 bumper. Maybe next year...

2005 Tacoma 4x4, SR5, TRD Sport, AC, Tow package, V6, Six speed, White, 98,000 Miles. My parents paid 18,5 OTD for it. This was with a 1 year warranty. What do yall think about the price? It is in excellent condition, must of mostly been highway miles.

I bought my 2006 Double Cab, Long Bed, PreRunner, SR5, TRD Sport w/ 70k miles last month for $16,026 w/ tax, title and license. I bought it from a private party, which I will always try to do from now on! Buying a vehicle without having to deal with a dealer was heaven!
Loan value according to my Credit Union was 20,000 so I feel like I got a good deal. If you've ever heard Ron White's bit on car dealers, that's exactly how I feel! On the food chain they rank right below a flabby hunk of whale shit!

Sure, I went to a few of the dealership websites (3 or so), most of them have online sales associates. you can "IM" (instant message) them or do it through email. I told them that I was at work and on conference calls so i could not call them and talk directly to them (this was a lie of course because i did not want to deal with all of their BS, come in and talk, come test drive it so we can rape you when you buy from us, etc.). So i started off sending an IM to all of them saying i had an offer for $28k including dealer fees. Make sure you do this, cause most if not all dealers have a 600-800 dollar paper fee. this offer of $28K was BS, i had not talked to anyone yet, but i sent it out anyways. I figure they lie their asses off to you, so why not lie back. Anyways, after all the dealers said they could beat it, i took the lowest offer and subtracted $300 from it, sent it back to all the dealerships, some could beat it one could not. So i kept going back and forth until i got a price that i wanted, ended up being $26,181.00 plus TTT (tax, tag and title). MAKE SURE THE DEALER FEE IS INCLUDED IN THE PRICE YOU GET QUOTED!!!!! After i got a price i was happy with, I asked the online sales guy to email me the specs on the exact truck i would be getting, and had him write the price we agreed on on the specs sheet, that way you can walk in and show them one sheet of paper and not have to argue or hassel with the dealer.

another note, make sure you tell them that you are financing through a bank, and not them (I recommend this so they dont find a way to rape you a second time). I ran into trouble with this because one dealer that had the truck on the lot said they could match the price, but when i went in they tried to charge me an extra $1000 because they had it that day. I got up and walked away. BE READY TO WALK AWAY IF YOU DO NOT GET EXACTLY WHAT YOU WANT, OR IF ANYTHING IS DIFFERENT THAN WHAT YOU AGREED UPON!!!! most likely the dealer will see you walk out the door and then call you back in and make a deal.

Sorry its so long winded, and kinda word vomitish. pm me if you want more details, or ill be happy to discuss more for everyone to see, just ask and ill reply shortly, im usually onlind all day at work.

    Happy buying, and goodluck

I stopped in at A Dealership here in Phx, AZ and looked at a 2009 DC SR5 4x2 longbed in Silver Streak Mica and have talked pricing with dealership previously using e-mail. The MSRP is 27,389 and with 1k rebate and additional "discounts" the dealer has the truck at 23,970; with fees the OTD price is 26,746. The dealer claims he's only making a couple hundred dollars at this price. I did not counter his offer but rather told him I would call him tomorrow after I had thought about it further. How much wiggle room is left on this truck? Thanks Tom

I got my truck, which is the exact same as that but with the TRD Sport package, for two hundred more than that. You can get them lower.

You got the same truck with the sport pkg for just under 27K out the door? How long ago did you buy your truck?
