After Cash for Clunkers, Toyota incentives and additional $500 they gave me for my old Taurus I'm financing $20,0000. Sticker was $28,800. Dealer gave it to me for $26,500. Then I got the full $4,500 from Cash for Clunkers, Toyota incentive of $1,500 and $500 for my 2000 Ford Taurus which was a piece of sh*t. It's a 2009 4x2 Trd Sport DBL cab short bed with towing package, JBL 6 disc stereo, factory tint and rear privacy glass. I was more than happy to pay $20,000 for a brand new Tacoma TRD Sport

What kind of package did you get on it? The 4x4s are a good 5k more, then you also got the sport. That is probably about average.

    Only Options were:

    TRD Sport
    Daytime running lights
    Tow package
    6 Disk Changer

The MSRP on the sticker was $30665 I am pretty sure. The difference between a prerunner and this one was about 3k or so. But it was slim pickings after CFC ended.

But what package did you get? Standard, convenience, or SR5? Do you have manual locks, mirrors, windows, etc, or power? I don't know what else the various packages have off hand, but my truck came with the SR5 package, power everything plus keyless access.

Sorry for the confusion, I recall seeing SR5 and other packages on Tacomas but the Sport kinda rolled it all up into one. It didn't say SR5 on the sticker but it does on the Tailgate :). I was wondering why that was on there. But I think I only wanted the sport for the scoop .

It came with these items in that Sport Package:

TRD Sport Extra Value Package (PY) - (cost savings of $950) -- Sport suspension with Bilstein® shocks, 17-in. alloy wheels with P265/65R17 tires, hood scoop, color-keyed grille surround/bumpers/power mirrors (standard on Double Cab models)/door handles/overfenders, smoked headlamp trim, sliding rear window with privacy glass, 115V/400W deck power point, fog lamps, remote keyless entry, cruise control, variable-speed wipers, overhead console with compass and temperature gauge, Sport seats with driver lumbar support and Sport fabric trim (in place of standard bucket seats), metallic-tone instrument panel trim, leather steering wheel with audio controls, leather shifter (A/T models only), sunvisors with mirrors and extenders, backup camera [3] and auto-dimming inside mirror with monitor, TRD Sport graphics

$4,000 off the sticker? Not a good deal?

And this guy with this deal?

Using 7.5% as a baseline for salestax and not counting a single DOC fee or anything you bought a new Tacoma for around $25,700?

So they gave you 5 thousand dollars off the sticker?

Hmmmm.... Tell ya what. The first guy that can scan and post a legit buyers order with no trade in showing the numbers and where they bought a new tacoma TRD 4x4 for 5 grand off the sticker?

I'll pay-Pal you $20.00 cash so I can start a Tacoma buyers service and buy all the trucks from whoever is giving 5 grand off!!

2005 Tacoma 6spd CC TRD Off Road with 40k miles. Sticker was $24,000, internet price at $22,500 and craigslisted for $20,488. I traded in my 08 Sentra SpecV with 20K miles on it and the truck was $20255 OTD plus $800 for platinum coverage. I was upside down on my car so I put $4k down to cover that. not the greatest deal, but now I have a truck and it has more options for me than a car did.

I was actually a little off, I covered my personal information. Ironically with a GMAC sticky pad. I wasn't 5k but it was $4383 off MSRP before any taxes or anything. I put 15k down cash, you see the down payment was 16500. This was for the $1500 customer incentive that Toyota offered. Take that off my price 27782 less the 1500 Toyota cash back that is treated like a down payment and that puts my pre-tax amount at $26282 which is $4383 off the $30665 sticker. I was told during CFC there was additional incentive monies available, not CFC dollars so I suppose it could have been better during CFC.

Keep in mind this was the last 09 4x4 DC TRD left after CFC.

I didn't want anyone thinking I was a misrepresenting anything. I could scan the window sticker if I had a bigger scanner.

I knew you were wrong...I wasnt implying that you were flat out lying but your claim of 27.7K out the door was off. I know it was off because I have poured through the actual dealer invoice book and knew it simply wasnt feasible to sell you a new 30,669 Tacoma for 25 grand.

What you really paid for the truck was right at invoice. Which is almost dead nutz 3 grand off the sticker....

Rebates are regional so your true bottom line as shown on your contract was 30,105. If you take the rebate off that you paid 28,605 OTD for your truck. Would you have bought that truck during the "No Rebate" period or opted for the low rate financing you would have in fact had a 30,105 OTD the price.

You did good on that purchase and with your big downpayment didnt need to opt for the 2.9% or 0% Finance deal.

Now would you not have had 15 grand of your own cash and needed to finance 28,500 after the rebate at say...7.25%? Your payment over 60 months would have been $567.00 a Month meaning you would have sent Toyota $34,062 bfore it was paid in full over 60 months....

Had you paid the full 30 grand not taking the rebate and opting for the 2.9% 60 month offer Toyota had at the time your payment would have been $537.00 with a total amount of $32200 paid back over 5 years.

So in most folks cases if they arent holding a fistfull of yen to throw down on the truck and actually need to finance it over 5 or gawd forbid 6-7 years? They would be better off paying the 30,000 bottom line that you had forgoing the rebate in lieu of the low rate financing!

Either way...You punced at the right time. The thought of $1500 dollar rebates on Tacomas is almost unheard of. I also pounced but took the 2.9% as my 15 grand downpayment was spent on....This instead!!!!

I hear ya, it was one or the other either the $1500 or the 0% for 36. I opted for the $ and financed at my credit union for 3.9% for 48. I found a calculator online and it said that was the better course of action.

Nice Bike, I still putter around on Jap crap :). An 06 Kawasaki Vulcan Classic LT:cool:. One of these days I'll upgrade to a Heritage Softail or Street Glide. Man there are pretty good prices on those now. But I needed a DD over another playtoy.
