I'm running icons with 700lb springs. I have a plate bumper and sliders. I think I might need to add a bit more preload to level it

I'm running close to the same weight, at 5740 lbs on the most recent check, but just ordered the D29XL to see if that makes a difference. I have to keep about 25 - 30 lbs in my air bags to keep the truck level. Otherwise, no air to 5 lbs or so in the air bags the rear end will drop 1/2" - 1" with the standard Dakar leaf pack. I'm hoping the add a leaf will lessen the amount of air that I have to keep in them. Some questions on the add a leaf though; what order does the new leaf get placed, ie between top leaf and leaf #2? Standard length u bolts that came with the Dakar pack are long enough? I'm planning to install longer brake lines, but haven't wanted to mess with that project yet.

The AAL will be installed between a longer leaf and a shorter leaf, not sure where that falls in the pack (not sure how long the AAL is), but they should be stepped down from top to bottom and the AAL fall into place where it falls in line. Ubolts and centering pin should be good to go.

    3rd down I believe

It will be obvious by leaf length

It will be the third one from the top. I just did it yesterday. It's barely longer than the leaf you stack it on, maybe 1/4 inch.

Did you get yours installed? I'm curious how much the add a leaf is going to help me? Still waiting for mine to arrive...

I thought this was the Dakar measurement thread. I searched again and this was the first to pop up, but let me know if I missed it. I was also hoping to hear from 58 siesta since he's carrying similar weight to me.

Mine settled a little, but no more than 1/2 inch. They do move an inch or two when I load up the truck for a trip, so that's where my front is set to be level.

    Do you have the overload?

Mine are going in on Tuesday. I think I'll put some bike tire tube pieces between the leafs without pads. I don't want to be squeaky.

I have the full pack from Wheeler's , I didn't add an extra overload though.

I didn't bother with bike tubes or zip ties, but I do spray the hell out of them with bioshield or fluid film when I do the undercarriage, no real issues after it worked in there.

I have the overload in mine.

I love the Dakar spring Pack. I don't recall any settling. These days I'm running 250lb over stock, in the bed for daily driving. :)

    No shocks required.

I've had mine in for about a month now, still rocking some good rake, they haven't really settled much and I've loaded em up ( hauled away all the waste from a job site I was trying to wrap up) my truck is also a fatty sitting at 5112lbs in daily driving mode. She'll be loaded up with rtt and gear for a 10 day camp/overland trip at the end of the month

I've also got a shackle flip which adds another 1"

Just installed mine last week ('13 DCSB) and am curious about settling as well. I have a cap on order, just waiting for it to arrive. I'm curious because I'm debating whether to add shims or wait till everything settles before addressing my new vibes.

I haven't noticed any settling with my Dakkars. I don't carry as much constant weight as some of the other guys who have responded, and I also don't have the AAL.
