Same approach here. There will never be kids, either.

I owe maybe $16k on mine. Bought it for $25k+ tax, tags, etc. a year ago, put 5 down, so making progress. Hoping to have it paid for 100% while it's still worth somewhere in the mid to high teens.

Sort of tossed around the idea of buying a '15 while I can still get one, but then I'd have to spend money redoing what I did to my '11 again.

Mine is an 07 double cab 4X4 TRD with 149,000 miles on it, been paid off for a while. Gonna keep her at least 2 more years and should be pretty close to 200,000 miles by then. Will just have to wait till then and see. If the re-sale value is good enough I may let her go for a new one. That also depends on how well I like the 2017's then. I paid $27,000 in 2007. According to www.kbb.com it should still bring $15,000 now.

16k, original loan was 24k. Should have the 5 year loan paid off in 3-3.5 at the rate I am going.

same here, for now anyways. I also don't smoke/drink, no expensive habits. So im hitting the loan hard. My cousin smokes a pack a day. At over $10 a pop, I figure thats nearly triple my gas expense per day! Cigarettes must be VERY good!

I am in the same exact boat and it ain't easy. Currently looking for work in Arizona...28 years of trying to make it here and its time to move on.

Back on topic I owe 27K which included negative equity on our trade in. I hope to pay that off early over the next 2-3 years.

I owe $227. My last payment comes due next month. I traded in a paid-off 04 reg. cab toward this 06 Sport back in July 2010. It was $21k, I got $9500 for my old one.

Both trucks put me in a good spot money-wise. And when dealing with loans, that's a hard thing to come by most times.
I was just offered $14k on trade. Probably going to keep it though- cannot recall not making a payment on a car. I only have 67k miles so I could have it for a long time. I bought it 06/2010 with 29k on it. I only do 7-8k a year.

WAY the f*** too much... LOL...

What is the point of this question? Is it to find out how many of us financed our Taco for $50,0000 over 120 months?

I just bought mine used in December.

I owe 10K on it, but I'm making 1.5 to 2x payments a month, so I should have it paid off in 2016. Damn thing would cost like 22k if I took the whole 5 years to pay it, and the HELL if I'm doing that.

I don't smoke or drink either. Figure I save a lot that way and never saw the point of either one anyway.

But my truck IS my expensive habit!

If you have decent credit and qualify for the better interest rates having a truck/car payment isn't that big of a deal. It is the 13-30% interest on credit cards that will get you in trouble. When I bought my 07 Tacoma new I traded in a 5 year old paid off F-150 along with an older 89 Honda Civic. I had a big down payment and low interest rate. The money I saved on gas paid the interest on the loan within 3 years and has continued to save.

Two years later I traded Jeep Grand Cherokee for the 09 Honda Fit my wife drives. I could have paid cash, but I would have lost money. The interest rate I paid on the loan was less than my money was earning in a CD. Total interest on the entire loan was only $1600. Once again I've saved over $6000 in gas money in the last 6 years by driving the Honda instead of the Jeep. Not to mention fewer repair bills, cheaper tires, etc.

Only put down a grand on my 2015. Made 2 payments so far and owe $26k still. Interest is 3.59% so I'm not paying much to the bank.
