I owe around $28k on mine still. I've had it 10 months. Bought a 2017 that was sitting on the lot still in mid 2018. No problem sharing. First vehicle with a loan on it in over 10 years. I was driving cars I paid cash for so not much at all to trade in. Didn't put much down either. According to KBB trade in values (I know, not perfect) I was barely upside down and am not at all now.

I could have paid cash, but its not like that amount of cash will return to my bank account within the next year. It takes time. And time involves risk. So I'm not about to let all my cash go. I'll pay extra on a low APR loan. I still hate having a loan, but it seems getting your first Tacoma is the hardest. After that one is paid off, trading in will cut some off the price of a new one.

Could have been paid for but I chose all the extended warrantee stuff since this truck should last me a while. I got a 0 percent interest so I believe I still owe around 9,000.00

You have to understand that isn't the norm, nor is it sustainable.
#3 here. Buying new and getting a loan just made more sense from a safety/reliability/peace of mind point of view. I just got tired of having to buy another used car every few years, never really being able to save up enough for one that wasn't halfway turned to rust already.

    Too much.
I owe $8,286 on my 2018. Good down payment, decent trade and I financed a little under $13.5k for 3 years. I think I'm a month or 2 ahead on payments, and this year's return should knock that down a bit more. I'm hoping to have it paid off this year, because I just bought a new Waverunner LOL

The Stock Market has had weekly gains for the last 9 weeks, that hasn't happened in over 20 years, plus l believe it's only about 600 points off the all time high.

Why would one care about the past 5 months when talking investing? Poor time horizon there. Look over 5-6 years perhaps since that is a typical car loan. If we are looking at making more money on our cash over financing.

Wow, this thread has some legs.

Now, could someone direct me to the "what is your fico score" and the "what do you consider "wealthy", thread?

I put 10k down when I bought mine (no trade in). I owe between 19-20k currently.

Was really hoping to send my tax return and bonus towards it, but unfortunately I have to buy an engagement ring (no bigger scam in the history of scams).

Got $10k for my 2009 CRV as trade in....
