Price goes down as you get older. Zip code is also involved even though I’ve heard that was considered illegal. Worst I ever paid was about 2k per year when I first got a Supra, I was early 30s. It had extra coverage for a higher end stereo. Best was $57 per year in a 87 el camino, early 50s, minimal coverage. In the 07 taco, I don’t remember how much it was but still very little considering the el camino was totaled into a new Mercedes.

I was with State Farm for yrs., no claims, no tickets, insurance constantly went DOWN. I've checked out all the usual suspects, but State Farm is the best by far for my situation. I think part of my low cost is because I have my home insurance with them as well. Plus being 65. Plus maybe New Hampshire. Every situation seems to be different...

I think mine is $79 per month.
I’m single, not married, and technically don’t own a home.
    I have “Full Coverage” w/ $500 deductible.

I'm curious, has anyone ever heard of a $50,000 deductible? It's what was on my work truck when it got stolen, so its the insurance my company put on it.

I don’t like dealing with insurance.
And I honestly don’t understand all of it.
    But No, I haven’t heard of a $50,000 deductible.
    I couldn’t affordable that “deductible”.

Full coverage is collision and comprehensive.

Comprehensive covers your property if it's damages outside of a collision.

Progressive $600/year. Low 30’s. No accident history. No other vehicles currently owned.

Modifications insured; $1000 deductible, $500 comprehensive.

    300k bodily injury
    150k property
    uninsured motorist cannot recall figure.
    Roadside assistance

Liability is a minimum requirement in Ohio but I’ve seen enough people not using insurance that I don’t mind over insuring my vehicle. We live in system where someone can failure to prove insurance but as long as they have it the day of a summons, no one bats an eye. Meaning they buy between citation and arraignment to cover their ass and just go back to canceling the policy.

That really doesn't seem to make any sense, when you think about what 'deductible' means. 50K deductible means basically 'no insurance'.

That's exactly what it was. I lost 27k in tools, insurance paid back nothing.

My uncle owns an insurance agency he ran for 40 years before his daughter took it over. I learned a lot about it. In 1990, being 16 and on my own policy and living in the Northern Virginia area, liability on an '82 accord hatchback cost me $1800/year w/Progressive. :anonymous:

Now at 46, I pay under 750/year for 3 vehicles; 2 full coverage, 1 liability and a 100 deductible with Erie.

    Factors influencing insurance cost:
    Age
    Years driving
    Driving record
Where you live (Detroit $$$$$ vs. rural Idaho $)
    Single or married
    Rent or own your home
    Credit score
How desirable your vehicle is to thieves
How safe your vehicle is in a crash
How picky your insurance company is with who they insure
And a bunch of other factors I'm forgetting...

Good job dad. Give them an incentive to not mess up.

I believe the sports car designation used to be by counting doors and seats. 2 door 2 seats was a sports car. I'm pretty sure a civic still has 4 seats, not familiar with the Hyundai even though I've seen them. Maybe they're calculating some other nonsense, displacement to weight or something.

It's all a legal way to rob us of our hard earned cash. Then they play a game, decline claims, most won't fight it, pay the one's who do, make more money. I believe the only real way around it is to be rich enough to be self insured.
