    Need more info.

You don't need much lift at all if you are going to lift one tire at a time. If you plan to lift so a pair of tires are off the ground, you will need one like pictured above.

I have a 1.5 ton Harbor Freight jack, works great. But then again, my truck is a lightweight 1st gen 2wd. Not sure how much heavier a second gen is.

Mine was actually a gift, but when I get another one, I'll likely be going with a 3 ton, for the same reason.

I noticed this as well. I have the same one. I just got in the habit of hitting the wheels and swivels with some sort of spray lube before I use.

Gotta love the Harbor Freight jacks. For being "cheap," they last forever!

Dog friendly, with dog snot on inside windows, with of course a/c! Mag 16 inch wheels from a Mazda.
January and February are slow months, so it's a great time to buy stuff at great prices. I've got one 4x4 and one 2x4 boards & cut them both up in 1 foot sections, to used to add to the jack when raising the truck, also blocking the wheels. Car ramps are also good along with jackstands. Check prices Harbor Freight, auto parts stores, Craigslist, and Walmart. By the way I notice a 2 ton floor jack at Walmart for $20. I've had one for about 20 years, but if I had to do it again I think I'd get a 3 ton jack.
