I just topped off my front diff after replacing left cv axle and ecgs bushing. Was able to add 600ml. Truck was slightly unlevel when I did the axle job, slightly lower on left, but not much.
I leveled it perfectly when adding fluid tonight, and was surprised it took that much. There wasn't quite that much in the catch pan.
Truck has had at least two cv axles replaced in the past, and I don't know if anyone ever changed or topped off the fluid. Drain plug didn't seem to have ever been disturbed (TIGHT!)
Thought I'd see what amount is typically lost when removing one axle with truck fairly level.
    Thanks.

That's like 0.6 of a quart way more than your job.
Look where the fill plug is and level of CV shaft and believe it fills to lube needle bearing and then axle seal pulled would leak out some.
    Diff holds 1.6 quarts total.
You should have drained and refilled if you did not know history and after getting crap in there doing the bushing. Hope you put a new seal in.
Check for any leakage out the pass side seal of diff too you can see easily. Also look at pinion seal leakage if any.

Have you changed the transfer case and rear diff to be sure or at least pulled the fill plugs to check also.

Yes, rear diff oil was changed by me, new seal last year. T case is full. I did put in a new seal when installing Ecgs bushing.
I suspect front diff was never topped off when previous cv shafts were replaced. Will be changing it after the tropical storm blows through.
