What are the "Hondo Garage Bed Tie Downs"? I'm a sucker for mods.

They're not the tie downs, just the tbolts for the bed rail, but they were cheaper than the eBay ones and wanted to give business to a vendor here, $12.99 for pack of 4.

    http://www.hondogarage.com/index.php/product/landing/toyota-tacoma-utility-track-t-nut

I did buy the d rings and bolts online though, they were cheap on eBay, actually I didn't spend $80 like I thought, more like $55 and got 10 d rings and 8 t bolts, so I have 2 extra rings for something else.

All my modifications are in my signature below but i am over $11,000 in modifications (that's not including the cost of labor since i did them all myself). Trying to get a hold of my auto insurance company today to see how i go about covering these modifications. I told them about a few of them i had a year ago but now i have many more and want to make sure my time (labor costs) and investment (costs for mods) is/can be covered.

Yeah, you can use them for mounting anything and insert them without taking the ends of the rails off.

Use with the M8 1.25 bolts, I like the black anodized over everything else, just like the all black bed.

I ordered 20mm bolt lengths on ebay, but they sent me longer ones, I had to use washers and they just fit and bottomed out at back of bed rail.

I'm thinking you're in the running for the most mods! If you ever wreck your truck, definitely tow it to a place where you can pull off the parts that your insurance doesn't cover. There's been quite a lot of discussion on here I'm sure you've seen, especially insurance not covering some things like aftermarket bumpers.

    Mobtown Sliders approx $1300
    Bakflip 2 $800
    Pro Grill $300
    Back seat power outlet $meh
    Unholy Mount $30 something
    Above dash mount $70 something
    CCW mounts from @Yo_Hec $135
    Remote started (Christmas gift) $100

Looks like I'm over 2500, I really want me some BP-51s, full skids, bumpers, and proper tires, I'm probably looking at about 10k total.

I was telling someone the other day that i need to stop with the modifications for my Tacoma. When i downloaded/organized all my receipts for my purchases this past weekend and i tallied up the current total i was like . I gotta think some of the overlanding guys have spent as much or more, especially with those top-of-the-line suspensions, wheels/tires, steel bumpers, skid plates, bed drawer systems, water stations, air compressor systems, additional lights, etc.

Good point, that's why for expensive items like winch, compressors, dual batteries, I like going with a portable everything (external 2" winch mount, any good small compressor, honda 2000W gas portable generator) because you can use them on any vehicle and even your buddy's vehicle when you're offroading. Plus, you keep them if you ever sell your truck. There's a lot of parts that become obsolete when the new generation comes out.

Any luck getting all your mods covered under your auto insurance? If so, who do you have?

Most companies will do an aftermarket parts rider on your policy if you pay them for it you just have to send them a list and get them covered. I have State Farm and my agent just told me to keep the receipts so that's what I do a 4runner buddy of mine has liberty mutual and they asked him for a list and charge him an extra $15 per month.
