I stand corrected, here is FL (after the taxes and fees they add on to base registration)
    • Weight through 2,499 lbs. $28.10
    • Weight 2,500 through 3,499 lbs. $36.10
    • Weight 3,500 lbs. and up $46.10
I just renewed my wife’s RAV4 which is why I had that $35 figure in my head - double checked and confirmed it was $36.10.
Our Tacomas of course would fall into the $46.10 category.

Are Californians still ruining washington state and oregon?

We have to deal with NY aholes in Raleigh driving up our COLA.

Does Florida still have the $400 impact fee for new registrants?

We have to deal with the NY aholes in NC. They move to Florida, it's "too hoooootttt" so they move halfway back to NY to North Carolina. We call them "halfbacks". And yes they have destroyed our housing market as well. Can't find a 1brdm apt for under $800ish and 800 is a rathole.

Can't buy a nice house for under $250,000. And property taxes in Wake (raleigh) and Orange (chapel hill) are insane. Then Durham, they keep claiming it's getting nicer, it's not, and they keep jacking the taxes here too.

    You can't win.

I might need to move back to Florida.

i think that has slowed. already ruined but could be worse. population doubled in 20 yrs i think.
the reality is oregonians are ruining it, not CAs. if you don't build it they won't come.

I hear ya, California is such a disaster that the Uhaul rates to Las Vegas are double what they are for Las Vegas to California.

Annual registration is $64.50 and is separate from yearly taxes, which are almost $1200.

They thank them because of the sacrifice and the service and because a very small percentage of Americans choose to do it.

Here's an idea, say thank you in return, be gracious and stop whining.

I'm not worried for you - California will make it more painful sooner rather than later and you'll get motivated. It too me way too long to leave Wisconsin and winters, but I'm glad I did.

Before you start hitting potholes. Illinois roads are garbage, esp in Chicago. And then there's tollways.....the ones they promised were going away after they paid for the roads.....still waiting.

Wisconsin is flirting with tollways and I've warned everyone back home - you better fight it hard because once they go in, they're never going away.

lol. in oregon portland area the problem is growing population. developers and city councils and counties love it...taxes, taxes, taxes. roads? we don't need no stinking roads. hey i know, lets toll the roads we have! just passed to toll I5 and I205. that'll work.

$67, in Texas it differs slightly around the state due to county road and bridge tax.

My 3000 lb. trailer is actually more than my truck at $88, but only because of the $30 vanity upcharge. :anonymous:

If you read my first sentence I'm pretty sure you'll see the words "I appreciate the gesture". Last I checked that's being gracious. Not once did I whine, just simply stating my opinion.

Maybe to keep the registration cost "normalized" it would be fun to report it in terms of hours worked to pay the registration fee. California registration did go up a lot recently and it cost me 2.6 hours of work to pay my 2019 Tacoma registration fee.

My registration for 2018 was $423. The DMV never sends me my registration in the mail (for some unknown reason), and when I try renewing online, it tells me the vehicle is not eligible for online renewal. I always have to make an appointment and go into the office. I will know this Friday how much blood it is going to cost for 2019. I am anticipating close to $400.
