I have a set of Icon 2.5 Ext. Travel RR w/CDCV with around 55k miles and 3 years old. There are no leaks, the CDCV still does it job when adjusted, and seemlingly performing well. These shocks have had a pretty mixed like with 60% on road and 40% off road being farm roads, fire roads, camp trails. I inspect the shocks for leaks every oil change looking for areas of dripping/pool shock oil as well as dirt/dust collecting.

I've read many threads about once it leaks, send them out for rebuild, but I worry that the nitrogen charge might be low. I'm mindful of how much sway the truck has in case of if its just the spring support the truck and no dampening due to low nitrogen and/or low oil, but it's hard to tell since I don't have the sway bar installed.

My rear shocks were Icon 2.0 extended travel RR and they did not have any leaks even at 60k miles, but when I pulled them off to replace them with Icon 2.5 RR w/CDCV, the Icon 2.0 did not rebound when compressed so low to no nitrogen charge anymore. I assumed since I recently upgraded to an expo pack, the Icon 2.0 didn't have the valving to keep up with the spring rate so that's why I was getting a lot of rebound or multiple shock cycling events when hitting an obstacle. Very much a wrong assumption.

Now I'm all paranoid. Should I just preemptively send out the fronts for rebuilt? I still have my old Bilstein 5100 with OME x885 springs to get me back on the road while I wait for a rebuild.
