Hello i have a 1999 v6 5 speed and I get average about 350-400 KILOMETERS on a tank of gas before I have to fill up since upgrading to 255/75R17 BFG all terrains. I used to get a lot more when i had 31X10.5R15 tires. Speedometer seems to be accurate compared to GPS. Just wondering what all you other guys are getting Thanks for any input.

I get the same as you, about 250 miles per tank. That's filling it up when the light comes on. I'm lifted with 32" tires V6, 5-speed, supercharged.

Over 400 miles per tank usually. I get about 26-28mpg with my 4x4 if I keep the hubs unlocked

Are you accounting for the larger tire diameter in your calculations? Doesn't sound like it.

Say what.... 400+ miles per tank, really? I can't even get 400 miles in my Corolla and I drive like a granny and never exceed 65mph.

I couldn't tell ya even if my life depended on it. In the winter here, it's in 4WH a bit, so that'll kill my mpg. I'll reset one of my trip meters next time I fill up- if I remember. I haven't paid any/much attention to it since the day I drove it home (Ca-Az) with a 525+ lb bike sitting in the back. That was in 2004.

    About 240 miles.
    But I run 285's and a 3in lift.
Never really used gps to calculate for the larger tires. I think it's about 10 miles per 100 miles. Idk.

If I'm commuting or city driving (v6), usually 220 ish miles indicated. With my 265/75s, it's only a couple % off, so that's "close enough". 250ish + if it's all highway, but any time I'd be on the hiway for long periods, I was usually towing a trailer, so right back down to 200+ between fillups.

If I'm in 4low all the time, it's more like 150 or less, but I've never really gone an *entire* tank in 4low.

Dunno why you think it's funny? I live on the coast and there are no hills. When I was in Wisconsin I could squeeze about 22mpg out

Miles per tank is a useless number.

    Because that's the mileage I got with my 2.4L 5 lug 5-speed.

You are claiming to get almost 30% better mileage than these trucks are rated at from EPA standards tested under ideal conditions.

    I 2nd this !!

Most mileage unless your running a measured amount of fuel over a measured distance are just a guess.

In a practical sense, the miles per tank is probably the most important!

If you're out in the boonies and you know you've got 100 to the next fillup, and you have half a tank, should you be worried or not?

It allows me to plan fuel stops on road trips. SHould I plan on this town, or the one 50 miles away? etc...

Similar build as mine but I have 33s...I can maybe squeeze 250 on an all highway trip with no headwind. Normally with mostly city driving I fill up with 200 on the trip odometer, but that's usually before the light comes on. Maybe 215 - 225 when the light hits.

Steel front/rear bumpers too, sliders skids etc
