I have the bilstein 5100's set at 2.5 on my 2012 dclb. i just recently purchased new rims and tires 285/70/r17 and there is no rub yet at all but i havnt taken them offroad yet. Anyway i was wondering how much more lift i can get out of these shocks and how before i ruin the shocks and/or other suspention components.

I believe that's it. billies max height it 2.5'' and if you use an aftermarket coil then the billies have to be set at 0. billies are made to work with stock coils.

could you possibly add a .25" spacer on both sides?

I've been wondering about this cause I was thinking I wanted to do 1.75" setting with a .25" spacer

as some people seem to have issues with 2.5" for alignment and complain that its harsh?

the allignment was done and my guy said it wasn't anything special but i have heard of people having problems as well. I remember people mentioning a combo they used with their bilsteins that got 3" of lift. if i got a top spacer wouldnt that work since they sit on top they wont extend the shock anymore.

Setting to 1.75 and using a ToyTec 1/4" spacer is what I did when I had my 12.

It's better than maxing it out to 2.5 in my opinion.

You should get 2.25" up front.

For the rear I installed Wheeler's 1.5", three leaf progressive AAL and left the OL leaf in for an extra 1/2" of lift. I got 2.25 up front and 2.00 in the rear, roughly.

Your gonna need UCAs. It may be ok right now having 2.5" lift with no UCAs but in time parts are gonna go bad a lot quicker. If you wana go more than you gotta get UCAs. Spacers at the 2.5" setting will make your springs ultra hard
