The dealer price is (supposedly) roughly $29.7 for that truck (dbl cab 4wd, sport w/jbl). I would say $30 before tax/title/license would be a good number to hold to. They are still making money over invoice not including rebates and dealer only incentives, not to mention any holdback.

Also there is a military rebate of $500 right now and a grad rebate of $1000.

I have a 2011 MGM DCSB 4wd TRD Sport with JBL Tow package, carpet floormats, bed mat and chrome tip exhaust. I paid 32 and change out the door in So Cal last October. I think I got a pretty good deal.

I was actually checking out inventory in san francisco to see if there are more available, and it looks like there are. Maybe ill have to drive down there because I think you have a better bargaining chance then I do. Honestly, $32k is not a bad deal at all. There will be limited trucks being built because of the japan issues. US factories will be closed until further notice. (I ordered my vehicle but it was cancelled due to this)

Sorry to worry you but just make sure you know your facts before dealers try to get stuff out of you.

I agree $30 before taxes/fees would be good, be he wanted that out the door.

Mup, at $32 out the door you're paying about $28,700 for the truck, plus your taxes (someone said 10% in CA), and $500 in dealer fees. You might get them a little lower if you go back, but not much.

If they would actually give you $32K even out the door [taxes/license/all fees], that'd be a steal! But buyer beware, because even if they give you that, they most certainly will do everything possible to profit off you (mainly backdoor financing).

    Let us know!

Invoice on that if the only options it has besides TRD Sport are towing and carpets is $30844. So then taxes on top of that. The double cabs long bed seem to be more rare, so you might have less room to negotiate, but you should shoot for something closer to $30k before taxes and fees.

I got mine "used". It had 2k miles on it. '11 TRD sport 4x4 DC JBL etc. 27k! Check the internet and dont get in a hurry. I delt with Coughlin Motors in Circleville Ohio, a 3hr drive for me, but it was worth the wait and drive. No run around, and was treated great at the dealership. Ive bought quite a few vehicles in my time and this was my best experience by far.

You don't get any tax deduction for your trade in. And there's no way to know the actual dealer cost until you see the invoice to be sure what's included or not. And you should be specific about what a 'dealer fee' is... (you're probably referring to the holdback

What there is added to the invoice is (in California anyway, as of about 8 months ago, could have changed):
TDA (marketing fund add, that the dealer gets back) - $315
Dealer holdback (varies depending upon price) - about $500

And there's some flooring adds in there... about $200+

These should be backed out to get the dealers true cost - and then only YOU can decide what a good price is, meaning how much ABOVE this you're willing to pay. You're doing well if you get it for no more than $500 over their true cost.

Yes, supply can significantly impact your ability to get a good price. If there was literally one available (either the Japan quake, and/or the year to year change over is impacting quantities), then I would wait and buy one once supply comes back. I've been around the car business most my life and can help someone get the best price (there's a lot of mis information in this thread - not intentional of course), so it's up to the op at this point to sift through it.

How much are your state taxes? Here in Commifornia, it was another 3k added to the cost.

Get the dealer's invoice so you can see the raw numbers; there are plenty of auxiliary costs added on that you shouldn't be subjected to (ie holdback). The destination charge is fixed.

My '11 Sport 4x4 DCLB w/ JBL and Bluetooth w/ Tow Package was just shy of $30K before taxes/license. I basically paid a bit under MSRP out the door

Good Luck, I was at it for months and wanted the Off-Road in Pyrite or MGM. First search and find the truck you want then get the E quote and contact the Internet/Fleet guy's as was said before. You have to deal with the guy who has the vehicle on his lot. Be prepared to travel to get what you want, it's not like you buying a Camry that are everywhere. Mine was 30,700 before the Cal Tax / Lic gouge which was another 3k. No rebates or incentives when I got mine, except the 2 year maint plan - big deal - I would've rather got $300 off. That was the best I could do here. Now I did find a 2010 in silver that I could've got for 29.5K + TTL. But I didn't want that one. It was a daunting process to get what I wanted. The main thing is take your time and deal with the Internet guys only. You'll at least get a straight price. You may be able to knock off a few hundred from what they quote you but thats it because they deal in volumn and dont usually mark up much. Research at Edmunds.com Good Luck

I got my 2011 V6 4X4 TRD Sport DBL CAB Taco for $32,100 OTD with tax, license, registration. They tried to ream me at the end with extended warranty, clear coat protection, lo jack, ect ect and I declined all. I think I got a good deal.

Bought mine when it was about a year and a half old for $21,000. I wouldnt buy one brand new off the lot, it depreciates instantly and anything under 50k miles will run the same as new.... Search and search for one and you'll find a good deal, might have to go pick it up, but once you find the right price the road trip will be worth it and a good time to get to know your new best friend! :)
