    cu52,

your theory would explain why they think they can get away with a sticker price of $31,000 on a 2008 tacoma. (its on their website. bendtoyota).

The no sales tax thing is such a bonus! Where in colorado are you from? I lived down in Durango for a long time.

I actually think you are correct about getting a little better than $27K from the dealer. They were just to quick and eager to take my truck from me and give me a lift home at $27K. But like many people have pointed out, until the cash is in hand, it could all be BS?

I read you post on how it happened w/ the sales guy.
    Have you gone back yet?
If they did an appraisal and said 27k I would do it. Take the check to the bank man!

Transfer to a closer Station, keep the Tacoma and avoid losing money coupled with dropping a 200+ mile commute!

Simons Mom, Havent gone back yet. Been on shift and heading straight on days off for a 4th of July vaca. Then back on shift. Wont be back to bend for a week and a half. Dealers called me 3 times and finally actually left me a voicemail this morning.

Rugby, Im at a station as close to bend as I can get without transferring to a different department. I actually work in Nor Cal.

Have you guys ever checked out fueleconomy.gov? its a pretty cool website that breaks down fuel cost for you. left tab theres a spot to click called 'side by side' comparison. Pretty staggering how much you can spend on fuel. For me driving 30,000 miles a year, just the different between the manual and auto tacoma is about $500 in gas. Lots of interesting statistics on the website. If I drive 30,000 a year for the next 5 years I'll spend almost $20K on fuel. Better off keeping my truck and buying a used diesel jetta that gets 40mph and driving that into the dirt.
