I get about 7 hours. When I was a drinker I would only get about 5 hours of shitty sleep, waking up every 45 minutes or so. After about a month sober I started getting 7-8 of solid sleep

I’m retired. I typically head off to bed around 2:00. I wake up around 10:00, but lay in bed and read for another hour, at least. Let’s say I get about 8 hours, plus a 30 minute nap, around 4:00PM.

    Retired life is tough!!!!!! LOL

I wish I was retired.. but got a long way to go. I get 6ish hours on weekdays. 7-8 on weekends. First baby is due in 8 weeks so I’m enjoying whatever sleep I can get while I can get it

I agree 100%, what's sleep. You mean those 2 hour naps I get 4 or 5 times in a 24 hr period. I don't really think of that as sleep. Now days, I sleep when I'm tired, doesn't matter what time of the day or night. If I get 8-10 hrs in a 24 hr period then I'm doing good. Being Disabled/Retired and not having anything specific I have to do on a day to day basis, makes this routine possible. I just wish I could sleep through the night, but I'll take what I can get. Sometimes my most productive activities occur in the wee hours of the morning.

I go to bed around 10, get up at 4:30. I'd say about 4 hours of that time, on average, I'm actually sleeping. Always had a hard time falling asleep, no matter what. It actually seems worse the more tired I am at night. If I go to bed earlier, it just takes that much longer to fall asleep. Even as a child, I remember spending hours every night lying in bed awake.
It's never really affected me one way or another, but I guess I wouldn't actually know if it was since it's a constant thing.

I am suitably envious of some of you folks, getting >8 hours a night....

I had a spinal injury 15 years ago, and ever since, I have had chronic back pain 24x7, and so no matter how many hours I spend in bed, I toss and turn all night, and never sleep more than maybe 2 hours at a stretch before the pain waked me up. On work nights, I only get 7 hours in bed at the most, which ends up equating to maybe 6 hours total sleep at best. On weekends I can get 8 - 9 hours in bed, but by that time, the back pain is so bad I can't even lay there anymore and I get up anyway.

Work days I get 5-6. Off days I get 6 -7. I can't sleep longer than that. I wake up and can't go back to sleep. If I do manage to get back to sleep I wake up stiff and deal with that pain half the day. I miss my younger days when I could sleep 12 hours and feel great.

Baby goes to bed around 730, I’m fast asleep every night by 8-830. Up every morning at 330 am to hit the gym before work. Never, ever have a problem sleeping 6-8 hours straight throng the night. Between work, a kid, and working out everyday sleep is super easy.

4-5ish hours. Because I get up a few times every night for the past 2 years or so due to bad carpal tunnel, where both my hands go numb, and it’s not a pleasant experience. Been fighting with my HMO to get surgery and I finally got my right hand fixed Tuesday :bananadance:. Left hand in a couple months probably. So hopefully I will get better sleep because chronic sleep deprivation has not been good for my job or life.

My goal is 7 hours during workdays, but realistically I get closer to 6. Weekends I go for 7-8. I spend most of the last 15 years getting 5-6 hours, and recently realized I work a lot better on nights I can get 7-8. But morning work outs are my priority, which means a early wake up.

I retired from the USAF almost 11 years ago...April 1, 2022 is the official 11 year mark.

Still working...my current job of 5.5 years is 6am-2:30pm/M-F so I try and get to bed at 10pm like my Fitbit suggests.

    A good night's rest is 7hrs:

    Score - 88%
    12% Awake
    23% REM
    49% Light
    15% Deep

    Score - 90%
    47 mins awake
    27% REM
    51% Light
    12% Deep

I find I sleep best when I don't have beer before I goto bed.

I have no problem falling asleep at all . Sometimes anxiety keeps me restless and I toss and turn. Sucks. Got like three hours the other day while basically just lying in bed with eyes closed trying to sleep. I get fed up and just roll out. Sometimes if I see what time it is I get it in my head that if I can get back to sleep now I’ll get X amount and worry the heck out of it . It’s like I have to calm myself down to relax. My first few hours are dead sleep and the rest is just unproductive

Not enough bandwidth on the internet to list.
I feel you. A lot of peeps just don't understand real chronic pain. I had 3 lumbar surgeries in as many years starting in Nov '17. Dozens of nerve ablations and steroid injections mixed in between all that and recently, too. There were periods of bliss in between those procedures but realistically, most were short lived. Fortunately I'm able to do stuff and have a full range of motion but there's a real penalty that isn't often reduced at bed time. I can sleep whenever I want since I'm retired and I have always loved to sleep in but even though doing that helps check that box in my mind, it's a bad deal for my back because the more I lay in bed, the more it kills me in muscle and bone pain. I can easily sleep in if I have eaten a regimen of Norco the day and evening before but I limit the intake of that for obvious reasons. I LOVE being up real early but I'm losing my motivation to get up and start super early in the cold mornings. I seriously think my mental acuity is best when I have maybe 4 or 5 hours. Too much gives me brain fog.

11 pm to 2:30 am every night. I have no trouble falling asleep I just can't stay asleep. In 2019 I became my fathers caretaker. My father couldn't walk but could stand up the last six months of his life. I think thats when my sleep schedule changed. One night I woke up and seen a light shining under the bathroom door at 2 in the morning. My father had made it into the bathroom and locked the door. To this day I don't know how he made it without falling. My father has since passed but my sleep still has not been normal.
