How much stress will the IFS on these trucks actually take off-road?

But really, you said it yourself...there aren't any real hardcore, technical trails.

Getting over an obstacle is different than running a trail with non-stop obstacles and no bypasses; this is where a build gets serious and the driver expects a certain level of breakage.

With that said, just ensure you have quality tires, airing down/up...basically things you are already familiar with. I can't recall what is already installed but I will say, I would want a rear selectable locker.

Aside from that, with enough experience, you'll be able to get pretty damn far. Especially where you're located, I doubt a front locker would be needed.

Should really focus on fixing the issues you know your truck has rather than creating more in your head

Yea the main difficulty around here is how tight and narrow the trails can be. I got by just fine with my old 98 single cab with open diffs, but a rear locker would def make things easier.

If you got by trails with open diff, then it doesn't sound like there's anything difficult at all.

Sell a few extra goodies (spare CV axles you should keep) and fix the current issues like mentioned.

I’m working on that but I was trying to decide whether to sell the extra parts and goodies like the axles and frame plates and put that into baselining the truck or if it’s be worth keeping them for later.

Yea I wanted to try some of the harder trails, but even those would probably be considered intermediate out in California. I think selling the extra parts os the best option though after everyone’s input. Screaming at 4K rpm at 75 mph on the highway is no bueno.

Pfft I did Bald Mountain Shopping Center plenty, in the snow even when I was by myself.

Not Coyote though since I've been putting off rebuilding my front end and getting a new radiator.

    That's a problem for Future-Me though :bananadead:

Leaking is a good thing. It just mean you're using the vehicle and they're properly lube.
