my 08 was a salvage and i love her. just needed a new front clip and she was out the door. thanks to after market parts and my prior accidents i had her up and running for under 600 in just parts not including paint.

back to the subject thoo.. IMO i wouldn't pay over 25,XXX wheel and deal him, ask for repair receipts, details of what they did, bring up frame damage... you could get her for 25 if you got some fancy words ;)

Are you seriously considering a salvaged title vehicle for $27k. Put $20k-25k down on a new 2014 taco and the $2k-7k can go towards mods and such!

I realize people clump salvage into one big pot but you really should consider just how much work was done. I have an 06 DCLB for sale thats a salvage title, but the only major work was straightening the inner engine bay panel on the passenger side.

There was no frame damage, and the replacement parts are factory parts that are factory silver. An airbag and sensor was replaced.

So think about this, whats different from this truck vs. '12 which has had the same repair....thats not a salvage title? Cost.

Basicly people are basing the 'quality' of a vehicle based on a piece of paper and what an insurance company has deemed salvage. I think events like Hurricane Katrina created an image of salvage titles as something to completely stray away from.

I understand the publics reaction to shy away from salvage title, but with a little education, receipts, and a straightforward rebuilder, you could save a lot of money in the long run.

It has a salvaged title and only a little damage? That is not possible.

For the salvage title to be issued, the truck would have had to had more cost in damage than the value of the truck and with being a 2013, that equates to more than a little damage!

Research it, but I recommend running away....fast!

I'd never buy a salvaged title. If I did. it would be for 60% of the KBB value. Even then it would have to be impossible to tell from looking at it.
