How much top plate spacer is too much?

So I just swapped out my Revtek spacer lift with 887’s and a 1/2” top plate spacer, on my 2005 DC with ARB bull bumper and winch. I ended up at the same height but with a 1000% better ride. It is night and day difference and I’ll NEVER own a spacer lift again. I have no idea what it measured at stock, but right now I’m 22 ¾” on the passenger side and 22 ¼” on the drivers side. In the rear I’m running an AAL and air bags.

My question is, I’d like a little more height in the front since I still have significant rake, but want to stay under 3”, anyone know stock ride measurements? Also, would adding another top place spacer be too much top plate spacer? I believe I have plenty of threads to handle an additional 3/8” spacer.

Its a matter of the shock bottoming out before you hit bumpstops.

FYI i did some measurements on 5100's and in a stock configuration, there was about 1inch of UNUSED shock (at full stuff) on my driveside even with the 1/4in lean spacer i have on that side. That stated, the OME shocks have a longer collapsed length so they dont have as much extra available uptravel.

Only way to tell, would be to pull the coil off and dust boot the shock and cycle the suspension (making note of the thickness of the dust boot collar and subtracting that from available extra uptravel). Factor in a little bit of compression of bumpstop and some simple math will tell you if you can space your shock down another 3/8ths of an inch.

Thanks, good info. I am running the 5100's set at 0.

I think I'll leave as is.

If you are running the 5100's with OME coils, you should be able to throw on another half inch spacer on the top no problem to gain some more lift.
