How much would it cost to fix the frame on this?

It was declared a total loss,,,, cause well it’s a total loss, in other words it would cost more to fix than it’s worth.
With all due respect, if anyone has to ask,,, they are very more than likely not capable of taking on such a project or not in a reasonable timeframe and budget.

Unless you have a hook up in the collision industry I would pass. Anything can be fixed within reason. I've seen MUCH worse fixed in my days as a collision estimator. But also understand nobody here can give you an even remotely close idea without experience and actually seeing the truck. If you bought this I would take it to a frame shop for an estimate. They could probably also pull the cab. Once it's straight bolting on the rest isn't a huge deal if you know your way around a modern car.

Start with peeling back the layers and see what you have. You may find it is all in front of the suspension and an easy frame pull. Then again you may find that you really do need a new frame.

It needs an hour long of prayer, and it needs to be sprayed with a gallon of holy water before you start anything.

This is so true of a repair of that extent. What makes it worse it there seem to be a thousand and one YouTube channels of people doing some seriously sketchy fixes to cars like this (infact one of the largest channels is seriously sketchy), so everyone seems to believe/think it’s easy or cheap, even more so when the channels are sponsored by the auction sites…;). There are some channels that have really decent work / quality though, problem becomes if someone doesn’t know, how do they tell the good from the bad, which goes back to your point.

Have to agree with the majority here. In this financial climate with supply chain issues it’s going to cost a butt load to fix and your going to be lucky to even get half the parts you need in any reasonable time frame…..but good luck.

Auction houses have made big money selling these types of heaps for a large profit margin, to dreamers that aren’t capable of such a project, but I don’t hate capitalism either- buyer beware! Think about it folks, if it was indeed repairable, they’d simply fix it and sell it themselves,,, but in many cases they’re not.

On the plus side, that wheel is pretty close to where it's supposed to be.

That frame may not be as bad as you all think.

Most of the carnage is sheet metal.

My last 5 Toyota trucks ( Tacoma's and Tundra's). Were salvage titled auction purchases.

My present Tacoma was much worse than that. The wheel was stuffed back 7" and the frame was bent pretty bad.

My frame shop billed me $600. I tipped the frame tech $200. Of course this was 6 years ago. Figure you will pay a grand now.

Been driving it for 6 years.

That truck is fixable. It will never be showroom perfect, but it will be payment free. I can look past a lot of imperfections when Im not carting paper on a ride.

Salvage titled repairable are not for everyone, but they have treated me well the last 20 years.

If you are at all a bit savvy working on cars, repairables are quite fun.

I'm actually looking for my next Tundra project presently.

Make it look good, but actually far from good, Using chinisium knock offs and counterfit parts, with macco 199 paint. I would say approximately 8 grand. Its not going to be oem.

Repacing all sheetmetal with oem, all oem parts. 35-45k.

It’s pretty hard to tell but I have experience in collision repair and that one might not be as bad as it looks. Once you get all that sheet metal and plastic off there I don’t think the structural damage will be to severe. If you zoom in on the driver side your gap between the fender and the door look pretty good this would lend to me thinking the passenger frame rail hasn’t been pushed back much and has very little side sway. The suspension is also fairly close, at least it looks that way from the pictures, and I have pulled them out when they are stuffed clear to the back of the wheel well. The upper rail on the passenger side may or may not be able to be saved. It would need pulled back into the correct position then depending on the damage possibly cut off and a new section welded on. Your a and b pillar’s don’t seem to be damaged. Core support will need replacement. Keep in mind I have no way of really knowing any of this without inspecting and measuring everything out but as far as the frame itself goes I don’t think your in bad shape at all. If you tore everything off yourself that would save a lot of time for the shop. We did some insurance work but the bulk of our work was jobs just like this one. If you found the right shop that does this kind of work you could probably have your structural damage repaired for a couple grand. After that it’s a matter of sourcing all the parts you need to put it back together then body and paint work. A lot of the end cost will depend on how much you can and are willing to do yourself.

Nice to read educated responses instead of quick quip responses trying to be funny. I didn't think it looked too bad either when I first looked at it but thought I was missing something after reading all the "smart" alec takes. Don't get me wrong, I laugh at some of the stuff on here but we need more of these types of responses to balance out all the fluff. Rant over. Oh and I love that color. SAVE THAT TACOMA!

I run a body shop and write estimates all day long. To fix that properly (not going to somewhere where “my friend can do it cheaper” that’s $20k plus all day long. Scrap it and get a new one
