I hope you don’t get stuck and need the locker either. I don’t think the negativity from others is out of envy. The scoops really serve no real function other than looking nice. The blinding factor makes me not want one the most. But everyone is different.

Scoop provides maximum airflow while crawling over curbs at 1 mph.

I wont because literally you will never need this unless you are rock climbing in Colorado. I have a LSD which essentially does the [less extreame] exact same thing a locker does.

I would pay nothing for a sport hood.

I won’t go back and forth with you about it, but that is not true. Read about the overall purpose and function of a locker vs. LSD.

I have. Locker locks both wheels so they rotate together. LSD prevents one wheel from spinning freely when in low traction situation. It's basically the same function as a locker but does allow some slippage where a locker wouldn't. You'd have to be in some pretty extreme situation to actually need the locker over the LSD. I'm not saying that the locker isn't better -it clearly is, I'm just saying I'll personally never use it.

I just get so fed up with all the people who buy ORs because of the broshure showing bros being all manly rock climbing, mudding, driving over huge remote terrains to set up camp when in reality they're only going to be driving the truck down gravel roads to camp at a state park. Those same people always come on here to bash the sport because it doesn't have a locker or MTS they they themselves probably never. Even. Use. If you buy an OR, great. If you buy a pro, great. But dont be coming on TW to bash the hood because you dont have it on your OR and you couldn't afford a pro.

I got my 2016 sport in 2015, the only truck on the lot, that's why I got it. Before that I drove at 2001 OR for 15 years. Sport looked awesome to me at the time, and figured I can add all the OR stuff, which I'm doing sllllloowly!!
Now that I have the scoop which serves no purpose other than looks, I love it, and I can still see who I'm running over. I wasn't able to wait for an OR, next time!!! :)

For the record I could’ve bought a Pro, but I refuse to pay that much extra for what you gain. Not worth it to me. Even if had a hood scoop and wings and could literally fly, I wouldn’t do it.

If it could fly, I definitely would. With the way traffic nowadays is, that would be well worth the extra!!!!

Just to balance things out....I'd give $300 plus my non skewpt hood for a super white oem skewpt one......not option when buying RC, can't even get RC anymore, no aftermarket wanted......but that's a 2nd gen story..........carry on.

I agree now that I think about the flying capabilities. Traffics good for me since I live in the country though!

Skewp serves no purpose, however my '07 Sport had one, my '17 OR doesn't but I miss the skewp so... am I bad person? Should I delete my TW account? :sorry:

If it allowed for flight, I would. But it doesn’t. It doesn’t do... anything. Trim politics aside, if the skewp was a 15 $ option, it would still be funny.

Furthermore. That embarrassingly useless scoop is a prime example of what TRD means in this generation. Nothing. Gone are the days when a TRD badged truck had something that set it apart from the base configurations. Or was once even a rarity to see. Heavier duty suspension architecture, an extra lug...As it stands, all I see are TRDs with very domesticated people behind the wheel, who have the only redeeming (barely) option- the locker. All of these trucks are the same, minus a locker. Im not gonna get behind a set of basic ass shocks or a freakin cosmetic scoop. I’m blaming who ever dropped the ball at Toyota.

I traded in my sport and one lucky dude traded me for his non scooped hood plus $450. This was a little over a year ago and a quicksand which was hard to come by.
