Doubt this is a good spot but it seems better than the rest. So on to the fun:
I've been around here posting and partaking in the forum frenzy and I found a perfect Sport today so it's about time for me to ask you guys how much you would pay for my car. So I've recently realized me and the 3 have either very good, hard, steamy sex or it's as bland as a nuns...well, you get the idea. So I'm pretty much looking to sell but this isn't a FS thread, I just want to know what you guys think my car is worth in actuality and/or if you're an idiot off the street. I know it's 18K trade-in, 20K private party, and 22K suggested retail price on KBB.
But I want to know how much YOU the average half moronic (I know you guys are smart) consumer would pay for my car. I'm looking in the ball park of 21-22.5K for it, just using you guys as a reference point to what I could actually be looking at getting for it.

    I've got a:
    2008.5 Mazda3
    Grand Touring
    everything but Nav
Galaxy Gray with black leather interior

Shes got 3890 miles as of this post. Around 3K miles under basing on 12K/year.

Mods are: Tinted Windows (70% up front, 18% out back) | Clear Coating | Mazdaspeed3 Sill Plates | Bumper Step Plates | Simota High-Flow Air Filter | Custom Made Dead Pedal | Heated, Anti-Glare, Wide-Angle Mirrors

    Attached are a couple pics.

edit: washed every other week and garaged for 5 of 7 months I've owned her.

Do you have a carmax? They will buy your car even if you don't buy from them.

I could get a new Impreza 5-door with options for that much. Or a Legacy 2.5i LE.

I could never justify spending over $20k on a FWD vehicle.

But to answer your question probably $18k. That's what the dealer offered my mom for the 2.3 sport sedan with a stick and cloth. And most shoppers look to pay 10% below bluebook in my experience.

    Yet somehow I did. lol

Seems a bit low, but if I get offers like that then I'll just trade it in.

    hmm... I wouldn't give you anything because I don't want a 3 hatch...

But -- If I were looking -- I *might* pay 20k for it... I like Mazdas (got a 96 M-edition mx6 in my driveway), and the 3 Hatch's are pretty cool, but ya gotta get over 2 things:

    1. Slumping economy
    2. IT'S A STATION WAGON!!!!

    - just screwin' w/ya... :D

I haven't gotten appraised for a trade-in yet. I have to see what I can get on my own since the truck I want is at this terrible dealer and it has to be driven up to this great dealer so if I go in and ask for appraisal then I'll feel bad if they bring up this truck for me and have it sit on the lot for a while waiting for me to buy it.

But I just might bring my 3 up to Toyota Walnut Creek and see what they say. The sales department is open til like midnight or something...wonderful dealer. The truck is coming from Dublin Toyota if anybody cares. (terrible dealer)

If I bought the black Mazdaspeed3 then I wouldn't be here...that would be terrible.

But but but...KBB and the DMV classify it as a hatch. :( Have I been lied to all this time!???!!??!????????
They also classify the Expedition as a truck and we all know that's wrong.

Alright, hi my name is Jeff and I have a wagon. :D (soon to be Tacoma)

lol... I love my mx6 -- just rolled over 102k last week... only problem since I've owned it were a couple frozen calipers and a TPS sensor that went bad.... The only problem I haven't fixed is the EGR... lol

Mazdas are good -- hope you can unload it quick.

I'm just letting you all know the guys on the Mazda forums are grinding my ass into a paste over this. They're all telling me how I'm insane to buy a truck and that I'll regret it and my car is worth like 17-18K and what I've done to it is depreciating the value because I've modded it. I don't really consider that modding since it's all aesthetics or functionality the filter is sort of gas mileage but not really since now I never have to get a new one. Ah, what a wonderful forum they have.

If you want modding, I'm trying to get a 2009 Ford nav system and retrofit it into the 2005 Expedition we have. Now that's modding.

I heard about the frozen calipers. Mainly on MSP's and Proteges and such. It is a good car, I just didn't really want it/was forced into it in the first place so here I am now.

Ya... frozen calipers suck... lol... the fix is to put protoge calipers on instead... they fit well with slight modification.
