I am looking to sell my 2001 Toyota Tacoma prerunner xtra cab. It has 98k miles and is in near perfect condition. Here is a list of upgrades on the truck and a few pictures. What would you pay for this? I have looked on autotrader and stock 2001 Tacoma's run around 12,000 with roughly 130k miles.

This truck has never been in any sort of accident and runs perfectly

    Upgrades:
    6” fabtech suspension lift
35” BFG All Terrain T/A KO tires (lots of tread) mounted to 16” eagle alloys
    flowmaster exhaust (side exit)
    Rear bumper delete
12 inch Alpine type R subwoofer
    Pioneer AVH-3300 double din deck
    K&N cold air intake

That is one CLEAN Taco! Sadly stock trucks are worth more than heavily modified trucks to 90% of buyers. $12,000 is probably a good price in my opinion. Up here in BC Canada anyways. Good luck with the sale man! I'm looking to sell or trade my X-Runner for a 4x4

The fabtech kills it.. I would not touch that thing... but if I had to buy it I would pay like $7k and yank that garbage off asap.

You might be able to get more than a stock tacoma goes for to the RIGHT buyer. However the majority of buyers arent looking for that

OyamaTacoma- Thanks! That makes a lot of sense, much more room to customize a stock truck.

Taco me elmo- 16 year old me thought it looked cool.... 21 year old me understands where you are coming from haha! Its not a functional lift by any means but I am hoping somebody just wants the look of the lift rather than the functionality. Awesome name btw.

It is only worth as much as someone wants to pay.

If you can hold out long enough someone will just have to have that truck.

I am sure you know as it sits it will only appeal to a very select market.

    Best of luck.

I would put it up for Kelly Blue Book Excellent Condition and let the offers go from there.

The low mileage on it may drop the value a bit.

KBB is for stock condition, this has a frame drop kit up front along with other mileage altering mods that make true mileage a guessing game.

    So that does not apply.

Good point. Then you couldn't pay me to take it.
I wouldn't want a truck with too many mods anyways. Not without everything being documented to the T.
But there is a market out there for everything. Always get as much as you can.

that is one clean truck. list it high, IMO.

F the haters, drop bracket lift or not, that thing is clean. and like said above, there will be someone out there that sees that truck, and just has to have it.

You can always ask 12k and settle around 8-10k if that is enough to make you happy, never start at what you must have for it.

my suggestion is put it all back stock and you will get a higher sale price then the way it is now.

then you should be able to sell it all separately and get about 60-75% of the value of everything you pull off of it to get that money back.

in the end, doing it this way will net you a lot more money, trying to sell it like it is means youhave a very limited market of buyers who like everything you did to it. most will deduct a good bit of value to have to pay someone to replace half or even all of what you did

I would not offer more than kbb's poor condition price for a DB truck.

Suspension, 33s, some armor... Rust, Gray wire and 2Low, and more. T4r is stock.
As some have mentioned, putting the truck back to stock will make it open the market on it a bit and make it more sell-able and not really change the market value much. Selling the aftermarket parts separately would likely net you a lot more money.

The truck's value depends on a lot of things. I've seen Tacomas similar to yours sell for as low as $5K or as high as 15K over the last year or so in my area (I was shopping for a Gen 1 DC at the time). If I was in the market for an 01 XC PreRunner like yours I would be looking to spend no more than $8k and I would rather it be stock, but that's me. If you find the right guy that wants a truck setup just how you have it you could make a killing but you may have to wait a long time for that guy to come around. If you plan to post it online as is, I would list it at or above clean retail value. Remember it is better to start high and then lower the price rather than the other way around. Just my $0.02. Good luck!

Thanks for the honest opinion ClevSix. I don't have the stock parts for the truck so reverting it back to stock might be a bit of work! I looked at what people are selling high mile stocks in my area and priced it similarly to theirs. I have one person messaging me about it right now but I have a feeling there will be a lot of tire kickers.
