I feel bad but that is just funny. Inexperience shouldn't be on a hill like that.

    James could have done better.

Zoom and I took that hill within the first week of having my Taco - she watched the video and she even knew to point the thing down hill not 'cross hill!' For a girl so small she has a good sized brain!!! :D

Zoom is very smart. She would put that spotter to shame.

We send those kind of bills to Mexico. They usually pay them within 5 business days to make up for all the 'free' healthcare we give their nationals!

I doubt this dude even owns a vehicle. Everyone else was probably smoking or taking a piss or watching a video of them selves making the decent, then bam Mr. I have a cool hat and know how to move my arms and look important jumps out from a bush...this video the result

At 1:42 It's the beginning of the end ...

Poor judgement taking a short right hand turn of the wheel ( they should've made that little correction at about 1:28 & worse turning into the hill.....

I don't know about you guys but whether taking direction or giving direction, I have no problem shaking off a spotter or vice versa.

I mean even when you have 2 experienced people (driver/spotter) I may see something they don't , they may see something I don't...

    Rule 1# here:

Those 2 didn't belong on any part of that obstacle

but it does beckon the question where were the "experienced" people in that group ? Even if they weren't in a group, if I see someone getting ready to do something I know is beyond their skill & can probably end in any way but good I'm going to try within reason to disuade them from doing so...

It just too bad that there were at least 4 or 5 easy corrections they could've made to make that descent just a slow ,scary (ehh), rush of excitement down a steep hill

I wish we had a video of HB Murphy spotting us on the Mision Santa Maria run... the most professional spotting I have ever seen/ heard... and I have been 4 wheeling for almost 40 years!

To me, the spotter on this video quit before the error began... driver kept turning wheel to the right instead of pointing the Jeep downhill... then did you see how she was giving it gas and pointing sidehill as it finished the first roll? Perhaps she was not in any control or in shock then?

Spotter gets a zero, because he didn't do his job, and quit before she even started to be in trouble. Driver gets a negative 3.7 for being behind the wheel of a Jeep with out the experience needed to crawl down a hill . Jeep Rubicon gets an A for looking so good after such a roll!

Bad calls all the way around. the spotter is prob her husband and pushed her beyond her limits, making himself essentially 100% in control of the vehicle from the outside (with his crap hand signals). He tells her every little thing to do, then says turn right and walks away... She probably would have made it if he wasn't there confusing her.

I've never offroaded myself. Where can I pick up the right way to give spotter signals?

    Try here for starters...

You will find lots of other articles there that may prove to be interesting as well.

And for the record, every time I have been offroading with responsible people who genuinely want everyone to have fun safely I have enjoyed myself more and had to spend less on repairs/replacements afterward. Your mileage may vary.
