Meh..it gets washed every couple months in the front yard. Haven't been to actual car wash in several years.

Sometimes I wonder what it is that Toyota puts on the finish of their Vehicles cause they are so easy to clean whether hand washed or car washed. Most of the time in the summer I might just hose mine off or park it in the rain. It always shines and people always ask me if I take it the car wash a lot and I basically say no. My truck is always parked in the carport or garage so that must help a lot with keeping the it clean and shiny.I do have a wax put on every 3 years or so.

Well said. Hand washing your vehicle or not is 100% just a preference. Those who have issue with or who have had damage done by auto-washes are in the minority.

I use the “one car length away measure”. Being about a car length way, if it is looking good no need for a wash. I do keep it in my garage and no salt to worry about in my area. When needed I hand wash it and keep a good coat of Meguiar’s Carnuba wax on it so no worries leaving it dusty.

Nah, would normally say accurate but just bought a house stuck with this for a bit, I’ll probably jump ship to a 2022+ tundra once market stabilizes.

I run it through a touchless car wash once every week maybe two.

I'll use touchless if i've gone out and the undercarriage and truck in general is just caked to save me sometime pressure washing. ALso in the wintertime when i'm too lazy to wash it i'll use touchless.

I can guarantee you that there is not a single vehicle out there that went through a touch carwash (regardless of what type of brush they use) and doesn't have some degree of swirl, this even includes cars with ceramic coats (actually touch carwashes are a great way of ruining ceramic coats). People who use touch carwashes and say they don't have any swirls just don't know what they are looking at or for. Do everyone care about swirls marks? No, but that is another question.

Everyone is free to wash their cars whatever way they want. But lets not act like all methods result in equal equality.

I'm in that minority, more like my family is but I prefer doing it myself anyway. Of course if I choose to do it in the colder months here I have no choice re that..but I will use a touchless where I spray it down.

My stance is if you use automatic washes and are happy with the result, keep using them and don’t worry about it.

As somebody who went down the detailing rabbit hole before when I was a Mustang owner, once you become aware of what “improper” wash technique does to clear coat it becomes really annoying always noticing it. Lol.

Yeah…. But the sign says ‘touchless’. Oh wait, it was the big guy at the entrance that said ‘no touchy’. My bad.

My 2017 seen a car wash twice hand wash twice since new, I gave up as as soon as I wash it the birds crap all over it. So when it rains it gets washed, or if we are going to a special event I’ll wash it otherwise not at all.
