This guy brought it up, I just reiterated. :D It's worth it to me just to change at the 5k mark, the truck didn't actually travel the full 5k miles before the change either so I'm good both ways.

I calc my MPGs every fill up but I don't compensate for the larger tires. It's really going to be off when I go to 35s.

We're on the same page. :)

Mobil 1 Syn and a Fram filter every 3,500 miles.

I also drilled the oil drain plug and installed a strong magnet. It's surprising how many super fine iron particles it pulls out of the circulating oil.

I can't believe you guys would change your oil at 3500 miles when using Mobil1. Total waste of money. You could do 10000 miles and change ur filter every 5000. If you do an oil analysis after 16000 km it would still show lots of detergents left.

you realize that synthetic is formulated to go 15k between changes if you really wanted to push it right?

change mine every 10k castrol 5w30 synthetic and a frame. No internal issues have 172k on the odometer.

You should seriously consider using Dino oil if you change every 5000 miles or less. You're pissing in your own boot.

Pssssssh. Plenty of people derp and spend more money than that on less important factors. Maintenance isn't skimped out on my truck by any means, if someone wants to change their oil every 5k and synthetic costs $20 more than regular dino oil I'm not going to lose any sleep over it. You can debate and argue all day but in the end I'm not changing my maintenance schedule, or what I use for it. Phil, you got a 5 lug truck, the maintenance on it cost like $10 anyway
