Got a quote for 350.00 installed and it will use the factory key fob. The installer says hit the lock button 3 times and it will start. Then hit lock again and shut it off. I'm skeptical on the whole thing. I have plenty of experience installing radios and other electronics. But never so in depth on an alarm or remote start.

The problem with remote start on our trucks is no climate control. You have to remember to set your A/C or Heater before you get out of the truck. I still don't understand why we don't have stinkin' climate control.

I use mine every day or every other day during the summer when it's hovering around 100 in texas and in the mornings in the winter so my truck can warm up. the viper system itself is great but i just wish the 2 way remotes weren't so shitty and cheap. got done with the boxer boogie in san antonio the other day and opened my bag and the damn thing was in 3 pieces. lasted me about a year and a half. luckily, i had the extra one that came with it. better quality but i hate not having the feedback like the 2 way provides.

You are in Hawaii, the only state in the entire nation that has never recorded a temperature in excess of 100 degrees! Even Alaska has recorded over 100 degrees, but your constant trade winds ensure a very consistent average temperature.
