    Lots, straight from the factory.
More than I had expected. It’s actually quite convenient.

    Stock and staying that way
I go out on the country, off the road by a mile or so, 30+ times a year. I have pulled a trailer with it twice in 2.5 years. The bed has been used haul plenty of things, from yard waste, car parts (rearend, transmission etc), and helped my a couple people move.

Next week will be it's first ton of coal for the winter. Of course only 1/2 at a time. It comes out of a chute about 12 ft high so we'll see how tough the plastic bed is. Leaves, branches, whatever. It's a truck. 2019 Cavalry Blue.

Hockey gear, coolers, camping gear, the German Shepard, tossing bikes in the bed for park and beach days. Pretty much a bunch of stuff I wouldn't want in a cab. 1,400 pounds of stone once. Bags of dirt, rocks, occasional lumber. Nothing too crazy

Does that count as "truck stuff"?

Probably not. More like lifestyle stuff.

With that said... I see more tacos doing actual truck stuff than any other truck around town. Right there with F150s. Lots of full size trucks around here just hauling families and occasionally towing toys

I’ve only owned it since May but I’ve hauled loads of lumber, mulch, stones for the garden, top soil, daughters’ softball gear, flight gear, and gun stuff. That’s with a six week work trip in the middle.

I will rarely go off roading, but eventually I’d like to start truck camping or Overlanding. But by then I’ll upgrade to a Tundra.

I use the bed at least once a week. Mostly lumber. 4x4 is mostly for winter and skiing.

Often. Today it was 2 half-yards of river rock for some landscaping work.

Often enough that yes, I need it.

Retired almost exactly one year ago.
Had work trucks (F-150 reg cab, manual) all my working life.
(The automatic transmission and access cab are pure luxury to me).

    Needed for:

Weekly runs to the transfer station (not paying for trash pickup).
Moving furniture several times last year.
    Firewood, yard waste.
5 tons of wood pellets (half a ton at a time). Getting to be time to do that again.
Plus miscellaneous bulky loads from time to time.

The following part some of you may not agree with. Or like. :p

The ground clearance on my Prerunner is nice, as state forest roads here are rough enough that it's a sensible feature.
I once owned a 4WD truck and used 4WD maybe twice (?) I don't go off-roading, looking for trouble. Not paying for that feature.
Yeah, better to have it and not need it, blah blah.
It's also better to have a generator for power outages and not need it, etc. But how many people do?
Though I do have a generator. And have needed it.
I always got by okay with 2WD and decent tires. And some judgment...
These days, meh, for the few days each Winter the roads are iffy here... I'll stay home. Because now I can.
They clear the roads pretty quick these days and I'll wait.
I'm not crazy about bathing my truck (and new frame) in salt brine.

Anyway, a Tacoma is very useful as a truck, and it's a pleasure to drive, as a bonus.
