During the brief period of time that it isn't snowing or freezing, I'll wash it every other week, longer if it rains or I somehow manage to avoid dirt roads.
In the winter, as often as I can. I hate vermonts dry road policy. Brine and salt everywhere. If its near 32, I'm washing the car.

i usually just let the rain take care of most of it for me, but if i go offroading (like i did this past weekend) i took a hose to the truck when i got home to get rid of the hard stuff. unfortunately the hose didnt get rid of that mark from the tree i hit lol

Tacoma is stock and staying that way, Pickup is TBA as of now.
Haven't washed mine since August, but it needs it bad, just so wet and grimy around here in winter that it will be dirty in 2 blocks after leaving the wash. The inside needs a deatailing real bad too, getting nasty in there.

    ooops.

    Well I can speculate...

If I had a second gen, I would wash it once, sell it, and buy a first gen.

I rarely wash any of my vehicles. I think the only time I have washed one of my cars was when I took my old Civic down to my cousin's wedding at Camp Lejune, NC a few years back. I only did that because it was a special occasion. That was back when the Civic was my dad's.
The rain usually takes care of the dirt well enough to suit me. But seeing as my Taco is the first vehicle I've ever owned that was purely of my own financial venture, it might be different. I haven't washed it yet, but there's no point washing it right now since it doesn't even run yet. But then again, it's going to be a work truck, hauling construction material, dirt, newspapers, and scrap metal, so there might not be much point in keeping it clean.
I'm the kind of person that carries their whole life in their vehicle- when the Mustang blew up, my stuff was all over the interstate. When the Honda got rear-ended, half the stuff in my trunk was on the road. I don't think there's such a thing as a Fenwick with a clean/non-cluttered vehicle. :D

A few times a week. I have my business logos on the taco, so I have to keep him clean.

So after seeing that so many people never wash the truck and sometimes only after mudding. Makes me wonder if these people are the ones posting rusty frame problems on this forum.

I wash it when it needs it, which is about every 1 to 3 weeks. If the roads have recently been salted, I typically wash every 48 to 72 hours until a good rain gets that shit off the read. I also wash following return home from wheeling trips.

Every 3 months the truck is professionally waxed with Meguair's 26 by my detail guy.

I handle touch ups, lube and rust prevention of the armor and undercarriage myself.

Frequent TLC is why it looks like this:

Yes I'm sure that extra coat of wax helps stop frame rust. Maybe we just realize its a truck and are busier taking it wheeling or using it as a truck rather than sitting around all day waxing and polishing it?

On that note I washed it today.

Under coating on the frame will help this the best along with regular cleaning. I live where there is really crappy roads in the winter and lots of salt mixes are used. My 06 still looks excellent.

I realize my truck is a truck and I def wheel it. LOTS. But damn I love a clean smooth polished truck. I take way more pride in having a truck I wheel on the regular that people have to ask if I wheel it because its so clean. Also a good wax job obviously helps for when its time to wash since mud and whatever cant stick to it very good. Less time washing....more time for wheeling!

Washed mine today was tired of walking by it and getting my coat covered in salt going to snow tomorrow so I guess I'll do it all over again Monday. I love winter but washing the truck in freezing weather sucks.

Another, "it's a truck and I use it like one" guy... Haha

Just because people don't go wheeling doesn't mean they don't need or use it as a "truck".

I wash mine when it's dirty, probably average once a week. I wax it regularly in the summer, about once a month maybe once every 3 weeks... Winter I just spray it down to keep the salt and sand from eating away at it. I'm upstate NY, the road salt and sand capital of the world!!

Once every couple of months, and when I do its a trip to the 75 cent power washer, just water no soap lol.

Amen to that. I'd spend 14 plus hours a week just trying to keep it presentable. I'm better off doing a "rain dance" and letting nature do the rest.
