Being a recent high school kid from north of Pittsburgh I can agree with this. There are kids that I graduated with that have S4's, Evo's, etc. They all drive the piss out of them too. Whenever they break something on it..."Mom, Dad, my car is broke. We need to take it in." The parents act like they wont help pay for it...but they eventually pay for everything.

Said kids are my friends too. I don't really like riding in their cars, because they'll go 130 on the highway when there's traffic around. THAT is fucking stupid.

Theres a few kids at my school with Hummer H2s and H3s as well as a ton of new Mustang GTs, STIs, Mazdaspeed 3s, M3s, ect.

I know one kid whose parents bought him a brand new Ford F150 Supercrew Fx4 fully loaded, had it lifted, chrome wheels, all that crap. He flooded it it and killed it in a mud bog after a few months so his parents bought him a brand new one to replace it.:frusty:

A kid that I am kinda friends with will probably take over his dad's business. That business is probably 5 or 6 car dealerships near me. Hummer, Nissan, Saab, etc. The kid rolled a Pathfinder in a parking lot trying to drift it. I think he was grounded for like a month or so. Oh, and I'm pretty sure that he can use any car that is on the dealerships that his dad owns too. So H2's, 350z's (No GTR for him, thankfully), saab turbos...all could be his ride for the day.

I probably won't buy a car from them just because I know this.

16, 17 year olds shouldn't get a brand new expensive car it's ridiculous. A first car is a car to learn on. You get to know how to take care of it. if you get a perfect first car your going to be really bummed when you mess up something. My 98 taco with 240,000 miles and a 5spd is a great first car for me.

Because at 16 and 17 kids care more about looking cool than their parents. Giving them a brand new car furthers the gap between understanding hard work and the value of the almighty dollar. The only reason that I have a new Tacoma is because my old 99 model that I got for graduation failed the toyota rust thing and I got 14,000 for it. I work in the coalmines to pay for the rest and school. I just wish kids would understand and appreciate while understanding the value of money. I am 20 and when life comes someday if you ever let it you will understand.
