Hey all! Just joined the family! Bought a 21' taco off-road! Just curious how old your taco is and how long have you had it? How many miles you got on it as well? Any major issues?

I drive approx. 30k miles/year commuting (95% highway) just curious if I'm staring down the barrel of something that is only going to last me 6 or 7 years.

I am super interested in hearing your stories and getting your input! Thanks!

My "Taco" is 15 years old. It has nearly 111,000 miles. I've owned for about 14 months.

It only needs the 100,000 mile maintenance. Then I'll do a few modifications.

Frankly, just do the required maintenance at the scheduled intervals. The truck will last at least 10 years.

My current truck is a year old. I’ve only got 6900 miles....
However, my 2005 was 10 years old and had 196,000 trouble free miles when I sold it. Like the last person said, just do all the required maintenance and take care of your truck. I suspect the truck will last you as long as you want it to last.

Agreed... my wife‘S 2004 Sequoia went 206,000 and was mostly trouble free. Had to replace a couple of water pumps but that’s no big deal.

These vehicles will definitely last and is one of the rare brands where you can actually get your money’s worth.

Toyotas are a bit like cockroaches....... They are killed, they don't just die.

I had an '07 Corolla, ran through the 100k warranty in 2 years. My commute was long, 150 miles/day round trip. Gave it to my daughter with 180k. She drove it to 230k, sold it a friend. Last we knew, last year, it was still alive with over 300k. Really beat up, but running well.

When I had it, the engine oil was changed on a monthly basis due to mileage. Tranny fluid/filter was changed yearly. Maintenance was a continual task with the daily commute. I got very adept at the oil change, less than 20 minutes.

With such low miles, you will have a high resale value even for being 19 years old.
