How old were you when you left home?

No one is going to tell the truth in this thread or they just won't post at all.

I would assume the majority of members still live at home with mommy and daddy.

I was out the door at 18. By 25 I had purchased a house, put myself through college, 2 wives (1 ex), and had 6 kids.

 

18. left after graduation, signed up for the AF while I was gone, moved back home for a few months before I left for basic and Ive been gone since. I ended back up in my home town though

 

(2) ex's now....7 years later

well, one widowed me

 

20 Couldn't afford to move out before that because I live in expensive ass California.

 

29 years old and walking his girlfriends past his mom and dad to get to "his room" is probably why he is still single.

 

Left home on my 17th birthday and joined the Navy, but came back after my enlistment.. still live in the town i was born in..

 

I had just turned 18, and was off to Basic Training... haha

 

Wait we are supposed to move out? Dammit I guess that's why my clothes are always outside! jk
Left at 25 got married, divorced 7 yrs later, moved back for a week til I found an apartment.

I tried moving out once when I was 19, was going to go to a technical school about an hour away from home. I had everything set up...classes were paid for, had my dorm room set, and even a job lined up in that town. The day before classes began I had orientation to attend and was going to move into my room but my dad stepped in and forbid me to go. So I was never able to leave and now that Im 30 well Im no where ready to leave because well my mom is sick and Im her caregiver.

 

Dad moved out when I was 18. I had the house to myself. Dad moved back when I was 20. I moved out two days later. That was 33 years ago.

 

That's a bit backward... how you have better luck with any future ex-wives.

I was on my own at 18 but it wasn't voluntary.

 

Joined the Air Force shortly after I turned 18. Only back for visits every couple of years.

bought my first house at 19, got married, and had our first child of three

 

I went into the Air Force at 18. Got a divorce in my mid 20's and stayed there for a couple weeks. That was it.
Loved my folks, but why on earth would you want to live with them when you are an adult.

It's crazy, all these kids wanting to live at home until they are 30. I couldn't or wouldn't do it.

 

21 and i still live home til my parent give me their house then i'm on my own

 

and people who were 14 left their home?????? how can they do that on their own???
