How old were you, and how long were you with your significant other before you asked her to marry you?

Ive been with my gf for about 8 years now. :D Recently I've been getting alot of pressure from her family, my family and married friends to ask her to marry me.

I've never really been one to get tied up in the getting married mentality, but it's kinda getting annoying having people say we should get married.

I'm only 22 for gods sakes! Its not that i dont love her or whatever, I'm just not really interested in getting married ever really.

She seems ok with it but every once in a while she does make a comment like "a big diamond would look really good on my left hand"

Psh I feel your pain bro. Granted, I do want to marry my gf one day, she wants to tie the knot RIGHT after college. We'll both be 22, and will have been together 6 years at that time. It just seems like such a young age to get married, I think my parents were 26 or 27 when they got hitched. And it sucks because she is always hearing about friends from high school getting married and it just makes her want it more lol

I don't see what the big rush is. It's only a peice of paper and a large expense. I think the problem with society now a days is that everyone rushes into this leading to a huge divorce rate later.

haha awesome, fellow marylander, I love pasadena, right by the water, nice work and very smart working thru college to pay for it, Kinda wish i took that route. But whats done is done, i had fun.....probably too much lol. housing prices still seem fairly depressed, im not sure where you have been looking, lots of deals out there and motivated sellers i would imagine.

I've been looking around the Pasadena, Glen Burnie area. She wants to stay close to her family. I've found some decent stuff out there, but still want to keep my eye out for the right one. :D

You're only 22?? No rush, wait for another few years if you want!! Getting pressured into it that young is a recipe for disaster:cool:

Yes, but it was a different time back then;) My parents married young and they just celebrated their 35th wedding anniversary last month. Plenty of times where I thought they were only together for the convenience of things..
