How rare is the towing hitch?

    Seeing the third gen section forced me to get a Ford...
    yeah, that one sucks then. i love the 7 pin interchangeable

    Tell me about it. When I first looked at the original window sticker that the PO left in the owners manual I thought I had the real deal. The more I looked at the wire connector I knew something was not right. Did a little research on the option code "DH" and found out it was just the "Port" installed "Tow hitch". I bought the truck anyway since my utility trailer can only hold 3000 pounds and that is slightly under what this hitch package can handle.

    For those who think they have the "tow package" make sure it is not the crappy option "DH" Hitch package. The quick easy way to tell is the 7 pin round connector on the back and not the 4 prong flat connector.

    I was at the dealer this morning, checked out the 09's and about 90% of them (both trd and sr5 trucks) had the hitch. Seems they are becoming more standard as an already added extra, they were rare around here when I bought mine. The "tow package" price is $650.

    I added mine myself, rarely tow and nothing very heavy anyway. With the bf being a technician I can add the other stuff pretty easily if I needed. ;)
