    Same as everybody else...
I suggest a Boiled Linseed Oil scrub using 000 steelwool. There are a few videos on you tube as well as plenty of "how to" guides on the web. Check out some of the Curio and Relic websites, loads of information there also. BOL scrub are easy to do, just take your time and let the stock dry between shrubs. When you're done try Scotts liquid gold or a good paste wax (the type used on furniture) to seal. I have cleaned up many old MILSURP rifles (Mosins, Type 53's etc) using the above except I finish up using Tom's Beeswax for the stock. For the metal parts I would suggest using a good gun oil or Ballistoil and a clean rag. Do not use steelwool as it will mess up the metal. Enjoy the gun but be careful, if in doubt take it to a Smith or to someone who may have experience with firearms. Even a 22 will mess you up if it malfunctions.

My Dad bought this for me at a gun show in 1967 - my first rifle. It is also a Sears brand - but I think this one was made for them by Winchester. We bought the scope at the show, too. Still shoots like a champ.
