My dad has a 2008 Sequoia with the 5.7L I-Force V8. He gets 20mph easy, with 380HP and 401ftlbs torque, and tows over 10K pounds.

Just imagine if it had a twin turbo and smaller displacement...

i see where your coming from. although, can't really argue the fact this motor is becoming the standard for swaps around the world.

    +1!

It actually kind of is that simple. It kicks every other engines ass in just about every department. Not exaggerating at all.
The only real reason to go with any other engine when doing an engine swap for any purpose no matter what goals you have in mind is if something else bolts right in with no modifications. EX. if you have a fox body mustang with a v6 or 4cyl, doing a 5.0 swap makes more sense even though it is an inferior engine.

Just a huge majority of the well informed. :p

My parent have 2 vehicles with the ecoboost. A Taurus SHO and a new F150. They both go pretty damn good and the mileage is into the 20s for both.

Yep, that is what I plan on doing with my tacoma. I heard it's a pretty easy swap to do.

A lot of pre-taco guys run supra straight 6s (jz motors) in their rigs.I think that would be cool in a 1st gen

That swap sounds like the biggest PITA. Dont get me wrong its a nice little motor,it puts out alot power. I have driven one befor after having to replace the transmission pump. Those truck haul ass(a bit of turbo lag). If one was to try and attempt such a swap you would have to get the whole body and engine loom, and you might as well use the transmission just to make it easy.
