Internet addiction is hard on the brain. For a while the endorphins flow and you feel real good. But sooner or later reverse tolerance kicks in just as endorphin supply hits 0.
If it hurts when you look
    Don't look.
Go outside and enjoy the real world.

I'm just making a general statement. I haven't read the whole thread.

I'm not trying to accuse anyone of anything.

Sorry if it sounded that way.

Practice what exactly? If you have to practice removing and installing 3 nuts, then we should probably be having some different conversations.

@GQ7227 , Hey Jay, no one just woke up one morning and became a master mechanic. I've been working on cars and trucks for almost 40 years, and there are many things I still don't know. It's called a learning process, and you just learned something new. I'm relatively new to the Tacoma world, and I still have so much to learn about these trucks. Carry on

Drain coolant (petcock on bottom driver side of radiator), remove 3 nuts, remove thermostat housing, *optional remove and install of thermostat/gasket, replace thermostat housing, install 3 nuts and bracket, torque to spec (14 ft/lb) and fill with coolant.

Everyone has to learn somewhere, and this is about the easiest job you could possibly learn on. No need to wait for a junkyard rig to practice on. Just give it a shot. Worst case scenario, you get a leak and have repeat the process. Bottom line:

    YOU CAN'T MESS THIS UP!

Plus clean sealing surfaces (aka both sides where gasket sits) with some emery cloth.
