I traded in my 2012 sport with 89k miles and the dealership is asking 21900, I bought it used with 57k for 24,500. It’s insane what these trucks go for.

    Correct,
Because it is a double wishbone suspension, not a McPherson Strut suspension.

    :yay:

General rant at the rest this thread...

I don't understand all the Pro haters... Very few factory added features are value for the money.
By most of the logic I see on this site we should all be buying SR's and then spending a couple months swapping stuff out until we got our Pros.
Or we could save even more money and buy one of those Tata Nano's and make them into Tacoma's.

All the people bashing Pro models,
bitching at people who modify their Pro's,
I attribute it to Penis Envy.
Because no matter how much you spent on a new suspension, tires, skids...
    etc etc etc
It will still NOT be a Pro, Toyota's top of the line Tacoma.
Even though someone put Kings on their Off-Road, it's still not worth as much as a Pro, so suck it up peeps.

See, "P" envy. look at 'em all winding up on their keyboards now, I can hear the clicking all the way up here in Canada.

The OP posted a beautiful looking truck.
I agree that it looks much better than a Pro right off the lot and the OP should be proud.

Nothing wrong at all about his suspension lift choice,
there was good advice on this thread about raising the bump-stops.
Once the bump-stops are set correctly, I sincerely doubt he will have any suspension issues.
    Even going off-road. :crapstorm:

If you are hitting trails hard enough that the lift becomes an issue, you would have known you were hitting it too hard without the lift anyways.
So unless you are going through forest roads with big potholes at 60Mph or doing the Dukes of Hazzard driving style, I'd relax.
In fact, dare I say it on this site.... you probably don't/won't need the Kings.
The stock foxes are a great shock for 80% of what you could ever do with that truck.
There are better shock systems than Kings . :crapstorm::infantry:

And if you're looking at upgrading the Shocks, upgrade/match the springs too.

There was correct information that it may / will affect the effective Zone dampening design setpoints on the suspension.
    BUT
Without specific information from Fox, and the spring manufacturer no-one could even begin to calculate any real numbers. Let alone guess.
And in real life, it takes very specific equipment to analyze the difference in the vehicle (4 post shaker table and a truckload of measuring equipment).
AND if you looked at manufacturing variation and tolerance stackup analysis, that difference would/could probably be the same as if you walked over to the next vehicle in the lot, for the subjective suspension feel.
Nobody on this site has a "Calibrated butt" so unless you test vehicles one right after the other it's hard to tell significant differences.

I paid 28k out the door on my 2013 sr5. Did the basics. Lift, rims, tires. Drove the truck all over for 5 years and put 70k on it. Got 24.5 on a trade from a dealer. Fuckin insane. They listed the truck at 29.5 and it sold within 2 weeks on their lot.E48C23EF-F1CF-48C1-B4E3-8794E8CC6AB0.jpg

I actually could have bought a brand new Frontier and really considered it for the price I bought my 3yr old Tacoma for. If it wasn’t for the resale and of course the looks, I’d be in a frontier right now.

Amen brother. Never understood the Pro haters. Wonder if they jump on the f150 forums and flame the lariat and platinum guys. Could be all they do for all I know lmao.

Thanks for the advice on the bumps tops folks, I'll look into it.

Been pretty happy with my wheelers off-road super bumps, just throwing that out as a place to start looking...

Nice truck Cody. Fastest color by far! (I like my white trucks)

As you have seen, like assholes..everyone has an opinion, cat herding is a real thing, and at times people act like their opinions.

Funny you say that and you are incorrect. Toyota San Diego actually pays 4wheelparts $3k to install 3/1 ProComp spacers, ProComp wheels, and ProComp wheels and then marks those trucks up $7k at the dealership and state that factory warranty will be honored with this lift. So hmm. Not saying it's right. But they do.

Yeah actually so does my dealer. They told me it would NOT void any warrenty of I did this kit since they install them as well.

So a privately owned dealership who sells Toyota’s is now Toyota, ok got it. And no it’s not covered under warranty, either they cover it out of their pocket or they lie to toyota and fraudulently have them cover it.

No it’s not, not if Toyota knows the truth about what’s installed.

Not to mention Factory or not, they ARE a representative of Toyota by default. So there is still a pretty strong link between every Toyota dealership and Toyota USA...

Wish I had the time to explain it to you brother...In short dealerships are franchisees...they can do whatever with Toyota products at their own expense and they must assume the liability as well.
