    I know they are plastic but he chrome finish is hard(on my truck anyway), the plastidip looks great but has a tacky texture that doesn't seem very durable.

    Thread re-revival. I am purchasing a used tailgate from a member with paint that matches mine, which has had the emblems removed. I'd like to remove my tailgate emblems and move them to the newly acquired tailgate, if possible.

    Can the emblems be successfully removed and reapplied? I guess my question is, would the 18-year old letters survive the removal and transplant...?

    And, if they can be reused, has anyone refinished them to spruce them up any?

    Seeing as how the emblem sets cost upwards of $1k-$3k on fleabay, it seems this is my only option, other than replacing them with decals instead...
