I'm in the middle of an alarm/remote start install on my 09 V6 Taco and I need to get at the harness and connector at the ignition switch that does the keysense and also has the wires I need to tap to connect my Fortin immobilizer bypass module. (I already have the main ignition switch connector off to get the starter and ignition wires, no problem). But there is a plastic cowl around the switch that makes it impossible to get at this second connector. Anyone know the trick for getting this thing off??

Well..... YES! Black screws hidden behind the steering wheel. Many thanks.... I have been poring through all the electrical diagrams and I didn't think to go try to find this little gem.

Please let me know how your remote start install goes, I still haven't installed mine.

I know this is an old thread, but I'm installing the 791 bypass which requires you to loop a wire around the ignition switch. Do you know if I need to take the ignition switch off to do this? and if so, how? I've included a picture to better explain the process. thanks
