    Greetings all.

I have added the XM Antenna from the OEM (non-SharkFin) to a SharkFin that only had the GPS Antenna in it. There is a rant in the beginning, but you can just scroll past to the pics to see how to install it. I also had to change out the connectors for the cables. A bit of a pain, but it worked out well.

    The link is here.

This has been an ongoing issue between me and Toyota Corporate for quite some time. In the end, I just did it myself.

    Cool mod.

I'm surprised the dealership in Hawaii was even able to order the XM-ready receiver.
I can understand Toyota's position... it's not them, it's XM (and DirecTV) licensing that prohibits the reception of their signals outside of the CONUS.
It MAY even be federal law.

But your current residence in the CONUS should clear that. It's not like anyone would ship a Hawaiian truck to the Mainland, move there to establish residency, then move back to Hawaii just to get XM.

For the Entune activation, find a friendly tech and use the VIN from a local vehicle.

    Not a bad idea. Thanks.
