Can someone send in their Setup page for a narrowband O2? I am trying to help a friend get the aem working on their truck and I have not done a narrowband before. Also something to be useful would be a narrowband to afr conversion table. Thanks!

@elnip @Shortman5 (dont know any others with pre 2000 trucks)

Open your software and plug into your 6. Go to Setup. Look what I had in there

I dont understand what you are saying here. I cant open it up right now because the friend I am helping is a couple of hours away from me and I am trying to double check the settings I had. I thought the only one that changed was the o2 max voltage is 1.01 instead of 4.95? Are you referring to a post you put up that I missed?

Whoops, thought you were the guy I sold my 6 to. My bad.

Yeah I think max is 1.01 and min is .1.

Nope, and thanks btw. high level drive should be on for narrowband, yeah? I was getting a problem of it would start and run stock with the jumper, and it would start and run with no values but when i put in voltages, it would either go under 10.5 or super lean. There was like only one voltage that was close to 14.7 but I cant tune off of that. I'm hoping it was the wiring and not the ecu being a t100 stopping us.

High level is for stock wide band O2. I do not use it on my narrow band truck.

The T100 ecu might be culprit. My truck is a 96 and that ecu can't be boosted. I had to switch to a 97. No voltage adjustment the truck should run "stock". I use offset mode.

Anything different about tuning in offset mode? My friend said that the 97-98 ecus are a lot easier to tune so I think it should work. Maybe with those settings changed it will work. Though we werent getting a continuity reading from before the resistor to the sensor... Might have been just resistance. He also had the rear o2 wired into the aem.

    No rear O2 here.

Idk about the different modes, I watched a video that said offset mode so that's what I've been doing since. There is a test you can do to give a approx afr to voltage offset. Don't forget about the accelerator pump feature once you get some good steady state ratios in. Helps with tip in immensely.

Are they SC or turbo? Other supporting mods?

Sorry didnt see this. Mostly only pay attention to pings. He is SC with 320cc injectors and a larger fuel pump. It is 1 cat and we did wire in the 10k ohm resistor in series before the tap of the wire. I tried scaling the fuel map and putting in a conservative timing map (nothing touched near idle or really under boost). It did change afr but was extremely sensitive and only had one value where it was near 14.7. Any lower of a voltage and it was 10.5 or lower. (like .01 V lower) higher and it went super lean.

He didnt go through any of our threads beforehand and only followed the aem manual so I am going to wire it with 0 extra wires into the aem and check the entire wiring on it. (hardwired into the truck.)

O2 skew is pretty sensitive. Try moving the 3rd digit. -.402 to -.406 ect.

Problem is that the AEM wont go any more specific, it only goes every .02V else I would and say it works. Maybe it was because of the high level drive that it wouldnt for me?

If you have one for a narrowband, can i see your O2 to afr table? Not to copy but to figure out what I was thinking was right

You must be in a different mode than me or have another issue to sort. I use Offset mode. Negative(-) must be applied to each cell you wish to modify. -.402 probably does close to nothing but I use it any way as the start of my ramp. -.406 starts visible closed loop o2 enrichment. As the number gets bigger (more Negative) the O2 keeps getting richer. The higher the boost is in closed loop mode, the higher (more Negative) number is used in those cells. It is very easy to over fuel here. One trip up a slight grade and you will be back in the maps asap. Once dialed it works very well and rewards you with lots of part throttle passing torque.

Narrow band does not use high level drive.

My values probably won't work well for you anyway. I'm running a turbo so it is not as instant as a SC. But this gives you a idea. This was a guess tune, I needed to build a map quickly and go from there with real data.. Also my 2nd o2 sensor is not hooked up to Fic, so ignore those values.

Hes got it working but the resistor for the cam circuit and the diagram is not working for him now... Dont know if its because of wiring or something else. Thanks for the photos. They made it a ton easier to understand

Like not at all to fix the code? Or not wired in in any way? Would that work?

So it only needs the crank sensor signal, not the crank?
