    crap bolted and welded together....
Once I got my lights apart and did the mod, I left all the factory sealent I could. Re heated the iven in assembly and put them back together with it. Then just ran a small bead of clear silicon on the outside when I was done. I vote that!!

thanks! i think the newer the truck the easier it is to separate the headlight, like the glue hasnt had time to dry out and turn to rock lol

I printed out your directions Tuesday and that night when i went home i did it.

i started around 530pm and finished around 11pm. the hardest part was actually putting my headlight in the oven!!!

instead of using Black spray paint, i had some Night Shades taillight tint and it gave it a nice dark color with a metallic red shine. looks very good in the light.

This is before I polished it.

All in all it was very very easy with these directions.

Just completed mine yesterday. Have a small bit of hazing condensation in the top left corner of the light. I have heard of people drilling a 1/4" hole in the housing to relieve this. Has anyone here tried this ? Does it work? I dont want to take them apart agian.

i must not have gotten mine sealed all the way up, and i get a bit of condensation if the pressure washer hits them in the right place. All i do is pop out the headlight bulb and maybe the two plastic vent caps for an hour or two and it clears right up.

ive washed mine a few time (pressure washer) still no fogging... if you have fog id pull the little rubber breathers off and hang a little desiccant packet in there. thats what i plan on doing to mine if it starts to fog. no drilling hole and you can pull it out and replace it

I actually have a desiccant packet that I put on the end of a length of wire, and sometimes I slip that inside the hole for the headlamp bulb to speed up the process.

Ok drilled 2 small holes and took my wet dry vac stuck it over one of the hole. Created a hell of a suction got out all the humidity and sealed the holes back up. All is good now. Live close to gulf of Mexico so when I put them back together I trapped the humidity inside.

Perhaps a silly question, but here goes anyway...
I want to start my BHLM, but I will probably be doing it over several days/weeks depending on work. If I seperate one housing, can I leave it apart for a long while and still re-use the OE sealant? I was palnning on trying to conserve the stock glue in the channel when I pry it apart, but I probably won't get back to completing it for a while...Has anyone done this?
    Thanks in advance
