Is there any specific reason why one should use the Krylon Fusion spray paint? will rustoleum work equally good?

dont put new over old....you wont be able to clamp them down tight enough. Warm up the pieces with silcon on it and scrap it off with a screwdriver (flathead) or putty knife. I would dip the blade of the screw driver in goof off to help get the stuff i scraped off, off the driver.

    Patience is the key

The sealant isn't silicone, I wouldn't use silicone as the only means of resealing the headlights. I used Window Weld by 3M. I did a half-assed job scrapping out the old sealant and then just layed new sealant in, baked, and used aligator clamps to hold the housing together while everything cooled and cured.

Good tip on the goof-off though, I just torched the screw driver when I was done to bake off any residual sealant

I'm glad it worked out well for you!

One headlight at a time. Follow the steps up to the oven. Place the headlight inside an accommodating card board box. Close it. Cut a hole pig enough for a heat gun to fit it's exhaust in there. And heat it up for about 10 mins. Heat more if needed.

    Is it not available locally?

    Lazy ass.

in the middle of doing this mod right now how long did you let the paint dry? I dont want to reassemble too early and cause fogging.
