925swbtacoma pretty much summed it up. Just get out most of it. Just enough to fit a new bead. When you preheat this stuff to join everything together, it all forms together anyways. It's held up awesome so far. It does not take long to cure which is a great thing!

I really want to do this, but am a little hesitant. The prying part is what I'm afraid of.

Not hard at all. Just make sure you have a helping hand to hold the headlamp while you pry it.

just about black everything. i don't dig the chrome.
for u guys that are on the fence about doing this, heres what the lights look like side by side. i know theres lots of posts of modded and un-modded, but none that i have seen like this. im not keeping it this way i just had time to only do one. also my flat black painted grill. its a definite must if you dont like your chrome grill.

You never want to spray Windex on plastic (especially clear plastic). The ammonia is really bad for it. I would try some polishing compound followed by some wax.

The description for preburning is stated right after it. You want to "burn" off the excess chemicals in the paint, glue, weld so that it does not create fog in your headlight in the future when it does get hot.

Did you go with the Krylon Fusion matte black, or gloss?

Neither, I went with satin. Afer preburning, it gives it ALMOST a gloss look.
