So I want to "Do It Yourself" oil change. I searched the site and had no luck finding the information I'm looking for. Is there a link or thread to change the oil of our trucks? My truck is a 2005 2.7 access cab prerunner 5 speed manual. I have the oil and the filter and tools so I am ready to do this. I just don't know how. Thanks.

    ^^^Pretty much that.

Drain the old stuff, change the filter, make sure the drain plug is in and fill it up.

IDK off hand how many quarts of oil the 2.7 takes. But be sure to not over fill

Im not sure how the 2nd gens are but in the 1st gens I take a zip lock to drian the oil out of the oil filter then drop it straight into the zip lock. This saves you from getting covered in oil.

She takes about 5 1/2 quarts as it stands. Kinda inconvenient. My next oil change I plan on running a Motorcraft FL-1A_style filter (Purolator 30001 series, etc.) so I can squeeze in 6 quarts without the risk of overfilling it.

The oil filter points threaded side up on the 2TR, so if you're careful and don't tilt the filter, you won't get oily. :)
