how to check frame, vin #?

Heard you can check frame recall thru vin #? Is this true? Thanx.

 

Yes, you can. Go to the ToyotaCare website at: http://www.toyota.com/owners/web/pages/parts-service/toyota-care

This will take you to the main page, in the top left-hand corner click the "Choose Your Vehicle" and then the red "Join Now" button. You'll create an account with all your information and your trucks VIN.

This website will give you some nice service/parts offers Toyota periodically runs, owners manuals, and most importantly a list of any services done to your vehicle at any registered Toyota dealership (work done at mom+pop shop will not be loggged on here)

Look through the "Service History" tab for your truck for a service titled something along the lines of frame inspection or CRT treatment. If this service was done pre December 2011 your trucks frame is eligible for the 15 year warranty, if done post December 2011 or not at all, you're out of luck.
